how do you guys install your new coils (premades)
i see some people just put them straight in, fill atty with juice and vape....wont that give a horrible taste?
other wet wicks with e-liquid then fill atty and vape, some wet coil wire and wicks then fill and vape..

just wondering what everyone else does?

Hi when I change coils in my protank (homemade) I wet the cotton wicks fill the tank give it a few mins and vape away

Attach, wet wick and coil, few light presses make sure were vaping not burning or not working, fill up and vape on!

yeah same as me then, lots of the vids on youtube they just whack it straight in lol im guessing that would make it taste burned for a while?

Wet it or not, flavour will improve noticeably, with a new coil, after the first couple of vapes. I usual put a drop of liquid on each end of the exposed wick, but sometimes I just throw the coil in and give it a shake, and haven't really noticed much difference. Mind you, I never use additional flavour wicks with a protank ( and no, I never get leaking or flooding), so, for me, wetting first isn't really an issue.

if you dont wet the coil though when you fire it up wont it burn dry as only the end of the wicks are wet?

It soaks up ridiculously quick so you would have to be super fast to hit it whilst its completely dry. I see it as oiling a part to a well built machine grease it up pop it in good to go ;)

I've got into the habbit since using cotton to always wet the wicks first no matter what wicking materials used, so long as you don't flood the deck with juice it's got to help any tank or clearo to start with, so long as the coil is sound. And positioned correctly, this should eliminate burnt taste caused due to wucking, if burnt taste still happens then I would look to the coil first.:-)
