Pulling on one leg of the coil with tweezers will do nothing but waste effort, in order to get the coil tightly wrapped and bedded into the thread you'll need to leave the legs much longer then using pliers grab both legs at once and pull HARD at right angles to the screw, this will remove all the slack and bed the coil into the threads properly. It's also a good idea to wrap a couple of extra turns so that you can pull the legs at either end to reshape the coil for builds that use opposing legs (like kayfuns) - Oh and use proper cutters for the wire, it will work out cheaper and safer in the long run - scissors are not designed to cut wire and will spread at the rivet making them loose and useless for cutting, a couple of pairs will set you back as much as a cheap pair of cutters - even decent wire cutters are only £5 or so...
