With the advent of the VV mod, the vape button has evolved from a single one to a three-button structure. The mod is constantly evolving. Whereas, the majority of the mods still adopt the 5 ignition button to start the operation. As the mod function is continuously being developed, the three-button mod is not limited to the ignition and adjustment output. Besides, the function adjustment and mode switching can be completed by using the combination of the keys.
While the mod function is increasing, it has fewer preset keys and multiple combinations of keys. It is difficult for novices to operate and select the function mode. Therefore, in this article, I share some common mod operation for everyone to refer to.
Confirm the atomizer
Normally, the mod will automatically detect the resistance value after the atomizer is installed. When replacing the different atomizers and installing the mod, it will prompt whether to install a new atomizer. Press the default setting:
a. The [ + ] button is to confirm the new atomizer.
b. The [ - ] button is to confirm the original atomizer.
Lock/unlock button
The modchip presets the lock button function to prevent the consumer from accidentally touching the button during the carrying process.
Common operations for locking/unlocking buttons: For common mods with the lock key function, usually press ignition keys 3 or 5 times to lock all the keys in the power state; the mod without the preset lock function, press the ignition button five times. Only the shutdown operation can be performed.
Adjust the output
At present, the output mods are all armed with temperature control. Under the temperature control function, there are different coils output modes such as Ni, Ti, and SS. Thus, it is necessary to switch the coils mode. Some mods have a menu setup function, which is distinguished from the mods in which the menu function is not set.
a. There is menu function adjustment mode: The mod with menu function, customarily press the ignition key three times to enter the menu mode. Add- subtract keys are to select the corresponding TEMP (temperature control mode). And ignition key means entering the mode. Plus and minus to switch the output mode of the coils.
b. No menu function adjustment mode: The mod without menu function, universally presses the ignition key three times to perform model selection function. And the add- subtract keys sequentially select different coils modes.
Unlock/lock power
Locking power is to prevent the vapers from accidentally touching add- subtract keys during daily use so that the power deviates from the preset value. If the deviation power is greater than the preset power and is used for re-ignition, the experience is poor and the atomization core is damaged. Therefore, it is necessary to set the power to lock.
Common unlock/lock power operation: Press the [+][-] button at the same time to unlock the prompt (similar to TO UNLOCK HOLD +/- or UP&DOWN LOCKED) which indicates that it is locked. In the meanwhile, press the [+][-] buttons again to unlock the power.
Locking resistor
The lock-in resistor is not available on all mods. The lock-in resistor is designed to prevent the resistor from adjusting with caloric value. This function is commonly used in temperature-controlled mode. Since the resistance value of the heating wire used in the power mode is not changed much, the coil material used in the temperature control mode is easy to adjust the resistance as the heat alters.
The temperature control mode is based on the change of the coil resistance. As a result, the exactness of resistance is crucial. If the initial resistance detected by the chip is not accurate, the temperature calculated according to the TCR will not be accurate. If the base is wrong, the whole calculation is wrong.
Common lock/unlock resistor combination buttons in temperature control mode:
a. Press the [+][-] button synchronously;
b. b. Press [Ignition] and [+] simultaneously.
