So i decided to change over to making my own coils because it would work out cheaper than pre made coils , But something is just not right .

I have a Tsunami RDA and a Kangertech 120 Mod , My Kanger120 has been perfectly fine for my Tfv8 baby and gives me pretty big clouds and nice flavor.
But i made my own coils a few days back ,Think it was like 7 wraps of 26AWG and used Bacon cotton to wick, I showed my mate who has been making his own coils for a while and he said it looked fine (the wicking i mean )
So i stick it on my Kangertech mod and put wattage to 60 ,Creates much less clouds than the Tfv8 and hardly any flavor,So i thought ok i will just buy some Pre made proper coils yah know just the wire , Have tried two different ones now from the selection and i am still not getting the clouds or flavor.
Used the official "mothers milk" in the first of the pre made coils and it wasn't good, Then tried some "apple butter" in the second coil with new cotton of course and it was just as bad.
The coils are reading 0.17 on my mod and i am using 60 watts , Its so disappointing , I must be doing something wrong. I see my mate vape and he is like Puff the magic dragon. I copied his exact build except his Mod of course and i dont get that.

I,m using 2x 18650 ,2500mAh 3.7V batteries in the mod .

Please help me , I want to fill my room with vapor and taste lovely flavor , So any suggestions ? ?

if your using single gauge 26 there not much surface area for juice to burn and it sounds like could be micro burning the cotton, i would suggest maybe trying some claptons, or stainless steel 22G or even stainless aliens! these would be much better and have better surface area for the juice to vaporise and give you lot more flavour and clouds!

What material are you using. Seem quite a low reading for most material if just using 26g.

What did you measure the ohms on? The mod?

Is the mod reading the coil correctly, is there a short / loose connection which would give a misread? If the mod 'thinks' you're running a 0.17 build (you could well be??) It will only supply the volts needed for your output to be 60w. If your coil is in fact higher ohms than what the mod 'thinks' you'll get piss poor performance. Reg mods have short circuit protection and what not but they can be wrong when something else is amiss.

Assuming that all is in order and you do have a 'real' 0.17 build it could well be too much airflow over a tiny coil. Either close it down or build a single parallel coil. You'll have the same surface area but all in one place and a more suitable airflow for that build. Believe it or not sometime less air will give you bigger clouds.

Hope you can suss it out, Tsunami single coiled is a banger.

I measured the ohm`s on a independent ohm reader , Ok so what is this Single parallel coil build ? i will give that a try later on today .

Also remember that the lower the resistance of your coil the more wattage you will need .... I would try a 0.4 - 0.5 ohm build and see how you find that.

Have a pair of nichrome 3.5mm 26 awg at 0.2 coils in the Tsunami and it's flavour for day's and room filling clouds. Something is amiss.

Hmmm.... Something not quite stacking up a dual coil 7 wrap 26awg kanthal 2.5m should come in at around .4 ohms

As @Oll13D mentioned photos would be great.

cheers

I use 6 wraps 26 316l with a 2.5 I'd and a nice snug fitted wick and I get good cloud and flavour from my griffin 25

A parallel build is where you in essence have 2 coils together as one. So you would wrap one coil, then wrap another between the gaps. I've found it to be a great vape and a quick fix alternative to 'funky' builds. Light in batteries and ramp nicely too. Just have a quick Google/YouTube. Easier than explaining
