Is it bad to add more flavor concentrate?

Starting to make my own liquids very very soon, and im doing some more last minute research before it all arrives, and without testing it myself i'm not to know...

Anyways, I remember reading somewhere that extra drops of flavor concentrates make DIY liquids taste 'chemically' is this true? I'm not talking about doubling the flavor concentrates i'm talking LITERALLY a few extra drops for some added taste.

Apologies if this is in the wrong section or has been discussed:}

Adding too much flavour will make your juice worse. that is the definition of too much.
A few extra drops?
Extra to what?
We do not agree about what the right amount is. Any recipe you follow is just one persons opinion. You may find you like a bit more or a bit less flavour.
A bit of experimentation is required to find what is right for you.
Certainly you should not think that you can just add more for a stronger, better flavour, you could get a worse flavour.

A couple extra drops should be fine, but if it changes the % drastically then it won't enhance, rather it'd ruin.

What I like at 5% for example the next person likes at 9%. It's all subjective

I always add 1 to 5% more flavor. But that's because I vape [emoji817] %VG or 80%VG. And it's taste just fine.

To be honest I never mix by drops as every concentrate manufacturer tends to have different sized tips on their bottles , so what might be a single drop by Capella , could be two drops by flavour art etc . It's much more accurate to mix by weight or millilitres :)

It's possible that what you read was referring to adding more flavour to well steeped juice. The new concentrate would taste different to the steeped juice.

There seems to be an optimal amount of flavour to add, and if you go beyond this the taste is no better or richer. What this level is has to be determined by trial and error. Start of by aiming for 15%

Too much concentrate will actually mute flavour ironically enough, you wana use addatives/companion flavours/pg/vg ratios to get it right

@tylerxjack some flavours are chemically.. more of them will make them more so.. some flavours are chemically if too strong or not steeped for long enough.. again more flavour will make this worse... some flavours are different strengths and do require more concentrate than others or are very muted/low flavour.. what amount different flavours need will depend on their comparative strength.. whether mixing as standalone flavours or part of a more complex flavour.. and more importantly on your own personal preferences.. there are some good guides out there and specific advice on flavour percentages for different flavours but initially expect to do a little bit of experimenting to fine tune things to what works best for yourself... it isnt that complicated though and is a great fewling when you get a couple of basic flavours that you enjoy.. plus the potential over time to save a hell of a lot of cash.. especially true for lower nic or using more liquid vapers... dive in and enjoy it... just nip back in here with any questions you might have...
