Is it necessary to prepare 3 kinds of charging port cables at home?

Since different devices use different charging ports, micro USB, type C, 510 thread port for some cbd device.
I had to prepare a variety of charging cables for each device. it just messing up my table.

The EU requires all mobile devices to use the type C port earlier, including iPhones.
Do you think type C will eventually unify the charging ports? and how many more years will this process take?

it’s a pain in the arse. especially micro usb cables, that must be the worst designed type of cable i’ve ever seen. they break in a matter of weeks, some cables charge some devices but not others. useless.

It looks like everything is going to be usb c soon. I do have this issue of different ports so I bought a cable that has one USB a connection that goes into USB charger and on the other side has USB c, micro USB and Apple connector. Looks like a little hydra :) I works great and you don't have to search for appropriate cable all the time. It was cheap too, like 3 euros or something like that.

My biggest problem is not the connector, but the charger part.

Some of my 1 amp devices will only charge at 1 amp but will work if a 2 amp charger is used.

Some of my 1 amp devices will only charge at 1 amp and wont work if a 2 amp charger is used.

Some of my older 1 amp devices i fear will break if i attempt to use a 2 amp charger

Some of my newer 2 amp devices i want to charge at 2 amps so i need a 2 amp charger

Some of my newer 2 amp devices i want to limit to 1 amp so i need to use a 1 amp charger

Some of my newer 2 or more amp devices i want to be able to charge simultaneously so i need a 3 or 4 amp charger

I wish i didnt still have microusb devices, but all my vape stuff still is, and they dont really make bluetooth headsets any more, its all earbuds, and my 10 year old plantronics still sounds better, is so comfortable i cant tell its in my ear, is not much bigger than an airpod, never falls out even tho u dont have to shove the speaker inside your ear canal, and its battery has an 8 hour talk time without needing a charge case and will stay connected downstairs and outside to my phone upstairs

And it charges in less than an hour at 1 amp

AFAIK mods only has micro USB "B" female and USB Type C female ports.

I mainly have micros USB cables, when I have to charge a Type C device I use one of these:

I always use a couple of 1A (1000mAh) USB power adapters. It takes 4 to 5 hours to fully charge, but they work pretty well. At least my mods, that seems they balance the charge well.

I know its not recommended and everyone should charge its batteries with an external charger due to many security reasons, but I noticed that when putting in and out the batteries their wraps may be damaged (easy to replace).

I also charge the smartphone (Xiaomi type C) with those, it takes long to charge but the battery life when charged slowly is much better. If I charge it using the fastcharge 2.5/3A feature the battery gets drained in just a few hours. Same for the pods, they exhibit the same battery performance behaviour when charged with powerful adapters, lasts less.

PS: fuck lighting and thunderbolt ports

@Jd_ have no fear about charing 1 amp device on 2 amp charger. Charger will supply only what the device can handle. But just to be on the safe side there are chargers with multiple ports that are with different currents eg. one port is fast charge or PD, second is 2 amps, third for 1 amp and last is 0,5 amps for Bluetooth phones, fitness bracelets and such really small devices. Something like this :

that is great!
do you know if the output is accurate?

I don't have this particular model so I can't say for sure. I have one that is 2.1 amps on all ports but have usb tester device and it always fluctuates a bit. In the beginning it is faster but toward the end current drops. That is expected of course. Anyway it should not matter really as I said before. Only thing that could be useful about those rated current ports is to charge slower eg. charging 2 amp device with 1 amp port in order to prolong battery life with slower charge.
One that looks really good is Xtar:
