Hello!

I've received my second protank 2 today and I'm a bit dubeous as to its authenticity. The website said it will cone without the box as it was boxed in Xmas packaging but will include the authenticity code, which I've checked and the website says is fine. However the quality doesn't seem to be the same as my original pt2 and the thread is slightly different. What do you guys think?

(The code came on a piece of cut off card from the holiday series's packaging)

The tank on the left is the new tank. The one on the right with the DBC adapter my first protank 2.

Thanks!

Threading is different and where is the centre pin for battery contact?

Where did you get it from that they wouldnt ship it in the original box regardless of holiday packaging or not?

Wouldnt have bought it as that would have thrown up a red flag.

Am I mad or do they both look a tad strange? Your latest one is right size for genuine PT II and the machining on the air channels is found on most genuine PT II's, but as KMS said, there is no centre post. The first one just looks all wrong to me with that strange, extra long, bottom half. Where's me glasses?!!! :hmm:

Doh! I'm not going to edit, just to show wot a numpty I am! I didn't see that your original was photographed with the adapter in place, so my post has changed to - new one looks genuine, minus the centre post!

center pin is the coil which is missing on the left, but the knurling on base looks a bit odd.. also the 510 threading is not right..

edit: if i were you i`d send it back...
the cut-out code is not the proof of authenticity !!!!

Its from e-cig cabin.

I've taken the coil out of the new one in the pictures. The things I've noticed are that the new one doesn't seem to be machined like my original pt2. The tip on the right has shamfered edges and the new one doesn't. The base on my first pt2 has circular markings as if off a lathe and the new one looks like it wasn't (can just about see the lathe marks on the right pt2 in the pics) and the logo on the new one looks a bit more blurred, but it does look like its lazered on in the same way.

Just put my spare bdc adapter on it and a coil I have already used before and its vaping very warm, so much so that I've had to turn the wattage down to 6 from 8.5 which was fine when the coil was in my first pt2.

I might email Langer and see what they think. Can't imagine a store going to this much effort to make a few extra quid, where would they get the working codes from? The store has been really good for all my other purchases. Found them through this websites discount code page.

Thanks guys :)

I bought a couple of Protanks, the first type, from a well known vendor and they didn't get opened for a good six months after I got them. They didn't look right, but I didn't worry. Loaded one up and it leaked like crazy. Drip tip was totally different, much wider bore and at the bottom of the tank, there was no part fixing the internal tube to the body of the tank.

That said, I didn't return them, partly due to the time after I had bought them and partly through apathy. (They were very cheap anyway).

They looked real, all the packaging was identical to my original ones and I suspect that the vendor had no idea that there was something wrong with them. But if you are unsure, get i touch and send it back.

If in doubt, contact the seller I say - regardless of how much you paid! Does seem a bit 'iffy to moi! :hmm:

Take the adapter bit off of the one you had and send photos of both to Kanger, if you need their email for a direct contact, let me know.

Ive let the tank settle over night and the liquid soak back into the coil more and to be fair everything seems to be fine now, no leaks and im back up to 8.5W. Its not like it broke the bank anyway, if i get any problems down the line ill get in touch with kanger but its all looking ok! just dubeous to its authenticity but as its not leaking and im using the BDC adapter (which i cant recommend enough by the way, if you have a protank you should get one!). So its the BDC coil making the vapour and its working great :)
