Hello Everyone
Today I am sharing my test results on the latest edition to the PodMod scene. The Obliq from Joyetech. It was sent this to test and my user review is based on my experience with the ObliQ .

Looks and Impressions
So starting with the look of this device. The leaning and unbalanced look is aesthetically pleasing and the glass side panels with a breeze pattern that glimmers in the light make this a very attractive looking kit. The glass side panels have a subtle curve at edge so no sharp edges . The ergonomic mouthpiece is incorporated into the EZ cartridge which according to Joyetech " FITS ALL YOUR FANTASIES " ! The device comes in an array of stunning colours Lavender and Black Rose pictured below but you also have a choice of Tropical green , Obsidian , Blue Orchid and Modern Rose .
Coils
I started out with the O.4Ohm and this gave good flavour across the quoted power range (20-32W ), but I found it best at 35 Watts .
Next up the 0.8Ohm satisfying mtl vape at 16 Watts .Turn down the adjustable side airflow to get a tighter MTl Draw .
The coils push in from the bottom I did not experience any leaks and the longevity of the coils is very good indeed . I registered 800 on the puff counter before I felt a drop in flavour with the 0.4Ohm coil and 700 with the 0.8Ohm coil. Not a single burnt hit to report from both included coils.
The EZ RBA is another coil that can be used in this device, The RBA kit includes the RBA head, spare screws, spare o- rings, a couple of spaced round wire coils, some cotton .This RBA coil is tiny and a little tricky to build on but i opted for a 2.5mm MTL Clapton which came out at 1 Ohm and was rewarded with a satisfying vape at 14 Watts. Sadly this RBA coil does not come included in the box. The cartridge has adjustable side airflow which helps reduce airflow when using the 0.8ohm coil to give a nice mtl vape. Flavour from both included coils is very good.
Device
The device interface consists of a fire button at the top of the screen with a plus and minus at the bottom. The screen UI consists of a battery bar and digital percentage readout, wattage increments , the Ohms of the coil , time vaped and puff counter. To reach the menu simply hold the + and - buttons. There you can turn off the smart mode feature , reset the puff counter, change UI colour , reset the device to default settings and finally check the ID of the device to ensure it's an authentic Joyetech device .
Powering the device is a built in 1800mAh battery with USB Type-C charging the device from 0% to full in just under 60 min.Battery life is good pending what coil and wattage you vaping at. 5 clicks to turn the device on and off and 3 to lock the device. Weighing in at 136g it has a bit of heft to it but it feels premium and comfortable in the hand. As you can see in the picture below the device comes with holes in the bottom to allow battery venting and heat dissipation.
EZ Cartridge
Filling the ez cartridge is easy just lift the rubber pull tab to reveal the fill port. I find myself removing the cartridge as its that dark PCTG material which can be difficult to see the level of eliquid inside but thankfully this will prevent shattering with some " Tank Cracker" juices. The magnets holding it in are strong and it does not rattle. The mouthpiece is very comfortable .With a non TPD capacity it holds 3.5ml of juice.
Conclusion
The Joyetech Obliq holds its own in the POD Mod realm of devices. A pocket friendly device that will draw a eye when raised to your mouth to vape on. Would i recommend this device as a starter kit ? Yes. If asked to rate this device out of 10 I would give it an 8 .
