Hi :) I just went ahead and added the optional pin to my Valyrian tank and replacement coil and it seems not to be tasting very well, it had the bog standard pin in before but this time the pin goes all the way up the coil. It's almost a dry hit at 90, can go up to 120. I've left it for at least 30 mins for the new juice to settle but doesn't taste right .... Most upset :( anyone have this issue? What can I do? It is Jungle Juice Pink Lemonade, running a Puma 200w Vapor Storm mod

Thank you , love the forum, it's so good ≤3

Those pins are to restrict air flow and stop spitting.
@90w youre going to want as much air hitting the coil as possible.

Remove it.

It's one of those if it aint broke don't fix it, go back to how you had it, the 2 optional pins are supposed to differ the airflow turbulence for a different vape but they seem more of a gimmick and as StrawberryRipple said they just seem to restrict it.

That said, you shouldn't have gotten dry hits on a new coil at 90 watts, is your preheat set to normal? and how wide have you set your bottom airflow? try it fully open to compensate for the pin.

a couple of reasons for dry hits on a stock coil are vaping faster than the juice can flow through the cotton (chain vaping), clogged up coil which shouldn't be the case here but with a new coil it appears juice isn't absorbing the same rate as it's burning it, try flipping open the top and reclose it after a few hits and see if that helps.

Other than that I am out of ideas.

I might try mine with the big pin in later to see if I get the same issue.

Okay, just inserted the 'Corkscrew' pin in mine and it's definitely more restrictive airflow, without the pin I had the airflow 1/2 open, with the pin I need it fully open but it's working pretty well, chain vaped it and impressed how it kept up at 95 watts, can't say I noticed much difference in flavour though but it's a smoother vape.

It does state in the manual that your wattage range changes with the inserts, the corkscrew says 95-120 watts so it's saying you need to increase the wattage.

One thing that impresses me a lot about this tank is the juice flow and cotton, it bubbles so fast showing it's wicking fast, fastest I've seen in a stock coil tank.

2 more questions:
Is your's bubbling immediately?
Have you gone below the 'MIN' juice line?

One way conversation sorry but I've just been out to give it a right good hammering, whacked the wattage up to 115 watts, put the preheat onto 'HARD' and chain vaped the hell out of it and it kept up perfectly not a hint of a dry hit or burnt flavour and the juice flow as mentioned before is superb, bubbles as you vape.

All that said, I will be removing the pin as it's still pointless and requires a higher wattage, granted the airflow was smoother but not enough to warrant using it.
