Been using my tanks with my dna200 since it was finished on Monday and they work great.I got home early from college today so thought I'd stick a couple of 26/28awg ni200 claptons into the twisted messes see how it performs and I was a little underwhelmed,I got 3 draws at 140w then no vapour or flavour with the temp control kicking in,my tanks still put out vapour and plenty of flavour regardless of temp control.

Maybe over wicked. I've heard TC isn't stable if you do that. I'm yet to properly play with TC to confirm that though.

Nah it's not the wicking, that's one thing I'm pretty anal about when it comes to doing a temp control build

What temp did you set? Did you resistance lock or just use refinement? Problem with Clapton and contact coils is the resistance can jump around a lot as it'll arc between the wraps. With nickel claptons I've found they work better on mods that lock resistance. They just don't work well on my dna 40 whilst the ipv d2 will happily run them.

vapers tongue hit?
No vapers tongue luckily that's one thing I've never suffered from without having having the cold or flu

Had it set at .04ohms and 430f,never locked the resistance in,the claptons were slightly spaced too,but like I said those first 3 draws got tonnes of vapour then the limit kicked in then all I got was tiny wisps of vape like off a cigalike

Have you tried resistance locking? I wonder if the core nickel resistance is actually getting to the stage as it heats up that the outer wraps are starting to affect the resistance reading and throwing off the TC estimate. Tbh if I use claptons it's usually with a nickel core and kanthal outer wrap and seem to work nicely.

I've done a similar build in my Velocity Mini, dual Ni200 claptons - 26g core with 32g wrap at 0.04Ohms and no issues, been a fantastic build. I did go on Steam Engine and set up a TCR for the claptons then uploaded it to the device. I also chose TCR Ni200 curve rather than linear.

Edit: I've got the mod set to 210c.
