K -Juice: An alternative to nicotine for vapers

sounds like something the EU regulators can get their teeth into - yum yum

I asked the question a while ago about using vegetables and plants to source an alternative to nicotine and apparently (so I've heard) the YouTube reviewer, RipTripper is some kind of mad scientist who's been working on such a solution. It will be a game changer and no doubt will create more confusion for the powers that be.

Begs the question that if it ain't nicotine it cannot be said to be tobacco related in any sense where do the regulators place this? The worrying aspect is the suggestion that 'take up' of this product is likely to be from big Pharma and or big tobacco. A whole load of possibilities arise...can't quite get my head around them all at the moment

As you say Mark, ive got mixed emotions about this. If Big Tobacco & Pharma get hold of this they could either shelve it or charge the Earth for it! Plus its from a Virtual Tobacco Company?

I've no doubt that it will become freely available from Chinese pharmaceutical suppliers.

Hold yer horses chaps, this is already tainted by big business and big pharma, and make no mistake. Cynical, me much? Nooooo ;) :28: Mr Pass' LinkedIn Page proves interesting reading ...

Whilst I like the idea of an untouchable nicotine substitute, I don't think it's really possible as if it isn't already regulated or licenced in one way or another by the pharmaceutical industry at present, it soon will be. The active compounds in the 'wonder drug' mimic those of SRIs (drugs used in anti-depressants) and as such for the nicotine replacement to work safely for all users, that means an awful lot of testing... as using it will effectively be the same as your consultant or GP choosing medications that will work safely and effectively with all and any drugs you already take without nasty (and I mean nasty) side effects :hmm:

Apparently big pharma AND big supp already have had hold of information on the Kanna plant for quite some time; a little bit of digging shows patents dating from 1990 and onwards on active compounds in chemicals found in the Kanna plant (Sceletium tortuosum).

SSRI juice?

If anyone is taking any anti depressants/ anti psychotics I'd say approach this with caution.
