Hi there all. Just got my first mechanical mod and looking for a bit of advice. It's a K100 and I'm using it with a Protank and eFest 18350's. It works fine but has a far less satisfying draw than my Vamo V3. as I'm using 2.2 ohm heads in the Protank can I assume this is down to the high resistence on the coil? Is switching to 1.8's the answer? Cheers guys!

Can I just add that the resistence on my K3 with the 2.2 ohm heads is showing as around 2.4 to 2.5ohms. I know the Vamo mods aren't 100% accurate with their readings but is this normal? Obviously if the heads are nearer 2.5 then the K100 is going to struggle a bit.

Aim for around 1.5 to 1.8ish. That's what I use for my k100 anyway

Cloud23 another thing with mech mods you need to keep the contacts clean, it makes an amazing difference, unlike a regulated mod... ;)

As yorkshiregrump said coils on mechs are better with lower ohm head, takes less time to heat up :)

and what i have heard is, as far as mechs are considered, sub-ohms are the in thingy. the lower the resistance, the better. try going below 1 ohm! although read all the safety bits relating to it before you attempt.

More than that, with the K100 there is a plating on the contacts.

If you remove the plating with some fine sandpaper or a power tool the pins are made of brass and will give you a much better conductivity/voltage drop. Make sure you do the top pin both where it connects to the atty and where it touches the top of the battery. :)

I run my drippers between 1 and 1.2 ohms on my K100. It works really well

I''ve just started the mechs and I run a 1ohm dual coil on my dripper and I'm gonna try get one goin on my agi tank which you should get btw it's on sale GreyHaze
