Here is a load of words pulled into groups and separated by punctuation. I chose the words and the order all on my own and without any help from POTV, so they do not have any responsibility for them. The mod was provided to me free of charge for purposes of review.
The Kangertech Kbox
Vendor: MyVapeDeal.com
Cost: $28.70
It's been a while since I've had a budget regulated mod. My old VV/VW tubes mods came with horrendous gaps (between the 510 and the base of the atomiser) and wobbly buttons. I shied away from all of the newer mods for fear of similar poor quality. It's fair to say that when MVD contacted me I wasn't expecting anything decent to arrive through the letterbox.
I am one of the three people drawing breath who does not own a Subtank, as a result I was impressed with the box right from the get go. There's an instruction manual for whoever reads instruction manuals and a QR code on the box to confirm authenticity.
Ignoring the manual, I jumped straight into inserting the hi-drain 18650. The cap spring gives the impression the battery will never fit but with some effort the spring compresses until the mod will sit flush on the desk.
The ergonomics are something you will either love or loathe, personally I really like the shape and look of the thing. It sits nicely in the hand and I prefer the feel to my square boxes.
The wattage adjustment is something else that some may struggle with. With single button changing, you can scroll through the seven fixed settings from 8W to 40W. As someone who tends to vape at 13W with tanks like the Squape and 20W with the Goblin it suits me fine.
Built to take the 25mm Subtank, to give a flush fit, I'm very tempted to buy one of those. That said, I don't find the step when using 22mm attys even slightly off-putting as they don't sit flush on any of my other boxes.
So far then - it is comfortable in the hand, the battery life display is clear, wattage selection is simple and attys mount without fuss.
Battery venting is catered for via the holes in the logo on the side, the name of the mod is embossed on the top.
What is missing? An ohm indicator and fine adjustment for power. Is this is a problem? To be quite honest, I don't think it suffers from either of these.
It has been built to a fantastic price point with the intention of using the new subohm clearos and their pop-in-and-play heads.
It is thinner than most boxes making it more pocket friendly. The buttons are firm but easy to click, again making them better in the pocket than a couple of my more expensive numbers.
I wanted to give this a thorough bit of use before passing comment and found myself using it out of choice rather than need. That speaks volumes to me of its functionality. At this price point you can afford to have it abused as a work mod, it certainly feels durable enough to be up to the harshest of conditions.
Obviously, being a freebie, it's easy to discount my viewpoint but I'd happily buy one. I strongly commend this to the house.
