Hi everyone! Well here goes, my first thread so let's see what happens?
About 3 months ago now & after doing lots of research I got my first mech mod. I chose the Kato Square Box with a kayfun lite plus v2 and wow am I loving it compared to my old evod & pro-tank3, now I know how to build a decent coil & wick that is.
But is the Kato Square Box really any good as mech mods go?
My kayfun works great but I tried a few different tank atomisers and they seemed to play up, like backfire or something? the bloke in the shop gave me a strange look and said that's not right, tried them on his tube mech and they worked fine for him. I think one was a rose.(I hadn't brought the Kato off him by the way). At the time I had the battery + positive end up pointing at the button as it was the only way I could get it to fire but have since put a very small thin washer on top of the spring in the button so the brass contact can now make it past the insulator and reach the - negative on the battery.
Was that the problem?
Have you had any problems with yours?
I see a lot for sale in the classifieds
Can you drip vape with it? Or will I need something different?
Tell me what you think of yours, if you still have it or even if you don't and why.
Still very much enjoying mine with the kayfun.
Thank for reading and please contribute your Kato experience.

I use mine every day for work and out and about. Never fails to work and haven't had to modify it at all except for a small o ring in the button to reduce the throw.
Never got it to work with battery positive down but I don't stress the battery anyway.

You could use a dripper but would need a long drip tip.

Has worked perfectly with every tank I've tried on it.
The backfire to me sounds like it's just the juice popping and would probably happen whatever mod you used it on.

I think alot of the ones sold in the classifieds are down to people not liking the weight or shape more than anything.

I also have a MVapes clone Kato and this has been my work mod for months using a KFL. The only mod I did was to add a brass washer on the thread of the screw in the switch to shorten the throw ,otherwise perfect. I only use button less batteries from Torchy and this setup has been faultless. Would recommend to anybody without hesitation.

Had the original Kato 18500 and got rid.

Nice looking mod but look at it funny and scratches will appear. But it was the very noticeable voltage drop that got me - I went through all my Kayfuns and each one gave a worse vape on the Kato. Totally unscientific, I know, but good enough to convince me to flog it on.
