Hi All

Set up my new KFL+V2 clone yesterday for the first time, built coil and wicked according to THIS guide, assembled tank and filled from the bottom screw. Started by priming the tank by covering the airhole and gave about 5 pulls. Unfortunately I flooded the chamber straight away and ended up with a mouthful of juice before I had even fired it. Turned it upside down and blew through the drip tip to try and clear the excess juice through the air feed hole.

Next drained the tank and took apart, checked everything was ok, did a test fire and coil was firing fine with good vapour at 16W. Juiced the wick, screwed the tank back together but this time did not fill. I couldn't get any vapour from it at all. I thought it might have been due to the incorrect adjustment of the air supply grub screw, so tried to adjust position of grub screw underneath. It seems to make no difference at all - It's like trying to drink thick milkshake through a thin straw! I can hardly draw any air through it at all no matter if the grub screw is fully in or fully out (removed). Is this normal? I thought it might be relating to the hole in the 510 screw not lining up properly with the air flow channel but tried turning this into all orientations which didn't make a difference either.

I can't understand why it is firing fine when the tank and chimney are off but then can't seem to get any of that vapour through the drip tip when assembled.

Watched several troubleshooting vids but nothing regarding no vapour and what seems like no control over air supply.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong ?

Thanks

Paul

Let's get things straight first, the kfl is a very tight draw, us MTL Vapers love it for being so.
Can you draw air in without pressing the fire button?

Sometimes if a kfl had dat for s time the airflow bobbin (for want of a better word) can get stuck, soaking in hot water or reading out with a thin implement can help.

With regards to position of airflow screw most of us have it fully out.

Hope something there helps.

Also importantly, the device fires fine without the chimney on? Have you checked this on an ohms reader? Could it be a stray leg from the coil not trimmed short enough??

Yes but only very very slowly. Guessing that this is normal? Was expecting to be able to tell the difference when pulling through the drip tip and adjusting the screw at the same time - couldn't really tell any difference.

the airflow bobbin
Not sure what you mean by this ? I believed the airflow system was a channel that goes horizontally through the base untill it hit the centre pin which has a hole in it that then goes upwards towards the coil ?

With regards to position of airflow screw most of us have it fully out.
Do you mean most people remove it completely, or just unscrew it untill the grub screw head is flush with the bottom of the base ?

Many thanks

I had a clone of this in the past and just completely removed the screw.. not sure if thats just me though...

How much room have you left between coil and airhole? Could be blocking it
If ur after an airy draw youll not get it from a kfl but a solid mtl tank with great flavour

Got any pics?
Yeah removing the screw is good, the kfl is a tight mtl draw.

Bout 1.5mm

I'm a MTL vaper, tight draw is what I'm after (assuming vapour is involved!)

Any ideas why I can't get much vapour out of it ?

Inside the airflow he
Is a little green (normally) ball which is the airflow 'bobbin'
This can get stuck, I've had several do it repeatedly.
You can prod it with a long thin implement, try to knock it free or other methods.
