Hi all, just received my KTS+ today in the post. I'd like to get it to produce plenty of vapour and have a good battery life.

What would my best options be to get it started? I have no idea which battery would be best for it and would love to have plenty of power to make it smoke well. The more vape, the better?

It has to be on a budget though as the Mrs will kill me if I spend a fortune on more stuff?

Thanks :)

Sounds like your new to mechanical mods and if so there's a lot to learn lol.

Firstly you want a good battery, I recommend Efest IMR.
You need to take note of the amp limit on the battery you buy as this determines what is the safe operating discharge. So basically what resistance you can safely build your coils.

Next you have two roads to go down, regulated or unregulated. Basically whether to use a kick or not, a kick goes in your mod and you can set it at a desired wattage to vape at, which means you can put any resistance atty on there. A kick also has short circuit protect built in.

If you go unregulated then your mod will be pumping out around 3.7volts so that's when you have to coil at a resistance to suit the mod. Which is often 1ohm and under to get the clouds your after.

If you go for a rebuildable atty you need to have a means of testing the resistance because if you fire an atty that has a short on a mechanical mod then bad things can happen, burns and explosions being the worst.

Sorry piled a lot of information in there but I would definitely do some research into battery safety, mechanicals can be dangerous.

Wow, alot to learn then? I have iclear 30's and similar ranging from 2.4 ohms to 1.8. What size battery would you recommend for the kts?

Hi Wilco, I see you are a fairly new member, me too. Taking on a mechanical mod is jumping in at the deep end! Suggest you look at Wiki.POTV. If you stick to an 18350 you can't get into too much bother, but watch your set-up doesn't get too warm. Please look at "kicks" and protected batteries before you go much further. An unprotected 18650 will definitely warrant the need for a kick as it regulates battery output (in vv/vw mods this function is already built in)

Thanks oddsocks. I am fairly new to this and been using a spinner for a while now since my 1st 2 cheapo batteries were dodgy. I thought taking a step up would be a bit more fun (got to start somewhere right?). I'll make sure I get a protected battery then. Should my iclears be fine for this then? I've also got a rebuildable tank from totally wicked too but it likes to dry hit.

I think the only issue you might have with using non Kamry tanks might be the air intake to the tank; the connection is quite recessed and so air holes get blocked if you use a Protank for example. I'd go for a reasonable ohm coil 2.5 should be ok. The I clear 30 is ok; I've just checked :)
