This is a personal review or a product I either bought or relieved free if charge. Th opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of this website, planetofthevapes.co.uk

Here we have a Lavatube Mini. It's often called the V4 or V2.1 and has a chrome finish.

I am relatively new to this hobby or whatever you wish to call it so please appreciate my views may not be comparable to those who have been Vaping for a long time. However as a positive, this means it's also suited to those relatively new to Vaping.

The Mini Lavatube takes a single 18350 battery. I use an AW IMR 18350 which fits and fires well.

This is a variable volt device capable of delivering a user controlled fire from 3v to 6v in 0.1 increments. You can adjust the voltage using the "+" and "-" buttons located beneath the display.

The device measures the resistance from the atomiser and can display it in the screen. To access this feature, press the power button which is located just beneath the voltage buttons beneath the display. This also displays the current voltage when pressed.

You can power off the unit by clicking the power button 5 or 6 times, the same action also turns the unit back on. This is idea for those who want to carry it in their pocket while out and about.

The finish is chrome, it's not as much if a fingerprint magnet I had thought and a quick polish with a clean cloth brings it back to it's former glory.

The unit measures 9.9cm tall and 2cm in diameter.

The fire button is located to the right hand side of the screen and is easily found without having the look at the device. I am left handed and have no issues using this device.

This has an ego/510 connector on top so is comparable with many atomisers available on the market.

Pros
Nice size. A little more manly than the Standard Ego style batteries.
Happily sits on it's vase.
Variable voltage allows you to match the volts to the resistance.
Neat design.
No thrills, set and fire.

Cons
No memory function, so you need to set your voltage after changing batteries.
I think the resistance reading is completely pants. I'll confirm this when I manage to find my meter. A 2.8ohm head reads 3.4A.
Can be a fingerprint magnet to some, but fine for me.

My choice top is a Vivi Nova v2.5 with a 2.8 ohm head running at 3.7v

Mine arrived today - waiting for batteries to charge so I can give it a blast! Only thing that concerns me is the batteries that came with the kit are unbranded with no writing on whatsoever, so may have to purchase what you've mentioned above to be on the safe side! Anyone recommend a good dealer/price for these?
Thanks in advance!

I'm stil very new to this, but as I understand it unbranded batteries can be an issue. I use the word "can" lightly though because I suspect the number of unbranded batteries are much higher and therefore you will expect to see more issues highlighted in numbers, but the percentage of failures may be the same overall.
I have looked at batteries recently, and if I were to buy some more I would consider the Senybor ones. I believe this guy also does good prices and can list batteries you want. - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-SenyBo...rElectronics_Batteries_SM&hash=item1c2e6dfd9c
Worth checking the sellers on here too, as some have some good prices, service and even discount codes to help out.

I buy from Torchy big_f_d_d all the time.

I had issues with the blue normal drain batteries in my Lavatube V1, but the orange and the red ones worked fine, they are high drain. The Orange and the Red are slightly bigger than an AW IMR battery and might fit most devices but with a bit of threading showing through.

He ships fast and free, and the price is right for good quality batteries, he also has a website that he posts his tests up on the batteries he sells.

I'd also like to say thanks to Ethelking for recommending YEZL 14500 to me, they are good batteries as well.

These are blue unbranded, so don't think they will come to much! Will have a look at Torchy big_f_d_d - thank you!

Have you a web address I can look at KMS so I can check out prices?

he is not a vaper, but he does sell to a lot of vapers, I believe he joined another forum months ago to learn more about ecigs so he could be more helpful too!

Loads of Ultrafire 18350's on Ebay :)

I read somewhere (and I can't remember for the life of me where!) that ultrafires aren't safe and should be avoided - believe the sentence went along the lines of "anything with the word fire in will be a disaster, so keep away!". Anyone had any issues?? I did notice them on eBay and saw they were a higher mah too, which would be an advantage if safe!
