Evening all. Just having a discussion with Mrs McBoffin about the world of flavours out there and we've been wondering:

How do you make your own concentrates?

Thanks for that. What I was hoping to do was to make concentrates from which I could then add dilutents to to make juice.

My limeted understanding is that from old threads is you can boil things in pg and filter.
A problem is knowing what it is safe to do this with.
By all accounts extracting oils is not a good thing because they build up in your lungs.
One reason we vape more artificial than natural flavours.
Any of the above may not be true being a combination of vague memories,

The vague memories are often the best. Mrs McBoffin (more accurately Dr McBoffin) is one of those medical types who has given up the fags and is now worried about vaping (yes, really ... A massive lack of perspective with the concept of risk).

A very good point that some things may not be safe to extract BTW!

It is one of those times when opting for nature identical flavourings is just safer than natural flavourings. The chemistry just makes more sense. A nature identical flavouring takes just the chemicals that make up the unique taste in isolation. A natural extract brings all sorts of additional chemicals with it and with every untested chemical comes a risk. If you want to reduce risk still further than the 98% reduction compared to smoking that you have already achieved you need to look at unflavoured or simple menthol options. Natural extraction has the opposite effect.
