Mec mod battery help

Any battery will do. However, that isn't a true mechanical mod. It may not be vv or vw but proper mech mods don't have electronic buttons.

Get batteries from torchy via ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/big_f_d_d and that mod is a pure mechanical not sure what tony is meaning as there are no electronics in that mod it's a side fire yeah but that button is just a spring and contact like any other mechanical mod.

Thanks lads.

I was going to use torchy, just wasn't sure about the button tops or the use of protected batteries.
I'm not a big fan of setting myself on fire :)

not a lot of chance of setting your self on fire, unless you were considering sub ohm work with it, and i wouldn't trust any mod that used a bottom spring for that

just my thoughts on the matter

No it's not, it's got wires in. Unless they've started making them different to all the ones I've seen.

Not going to argue over this Tony it's purely a mech mod no electronics inside whatsoever and is pretty much a poldiac clone all that switch does is complete the connection on the batteries positive and negative connections.

Batteries for your mod are a matter of budget, choice, confidence, and a smidgin of common sense. I've used 'cheap and cheerful' unbranded, and more expensive 'named and recommended' brands, both protected and not protected, none have performed,in a mech, any better,or worse, than others, and I've had the odd DOA with both cheapos and dear 'uns, which is understandable seeing as the vendor is only selling 'em, not making 'em.
As for button or flat top, it's the one that fits that's the right one, and most mechanical mods with adjustable positive pins, have margins for both. Having said that, with the mech you have chosen, the PH22, I would opt for flat top, seeing as you won't be able to adjust the top pin,but you are able to stretch the bottom spring a tad if the battery is a bit on the rattley side.

It all depends what the amp rating of the switch and wires. Too low and itll get hot and cause an atomic explosion! ;-)
