About a 100 between each of them :lol1: I would have to ask where you bought your mesh from though, I have been using 400 and whilst relatively new to making a mesh wick have had no problems at all. Also what method are you using to make them?

Got mine from stealth vape so should be good stuff, just standard practice really tight roll about 2mm thick once rolled, think my wick hole is about 2.5 mm,i heard the different grades wick differently.

thats your problem right there. the mesh shouldnt be tight, should really be almost funnel like so the juice and air can come up the middle of it. your getting fry hite becasue being so tight its obstructing juice and air flow.
one easy way is to roll the mesh around a straightened paper clip and then wrap the coil with the clip inside the mesh ( also keeps the mesh straight. dont over tighten the coil either and you'll find a much better vape.
or another method i use is make a thin tube of cotton wool ( about 1-2 mm in diameter 0 and wrap the mesh around that, trim the ends so none is sticking out of the cotton and you get a nice warm vape with plenty of juice coming up the cotton. works a treat

Right, yup stealth gear is good so that should not be the cause. I dont want to tell you how to suck egss but just checking, you gave the mesh a few good burns to oxidise it, dip in water and at the end soak it in liquid and then just light it? I also mentioned in another thread that as an experiment I rolled up a small length of silica wick inside, that end sits on the bottom of the tank. Seems to work for me, and I think it was seedy who mentioned he tried that also.

Yes think i oxidise it proper,i dont dip in water though,i think putting a piece of wick inside sounds like a plan, ill nip to vape shop tomoz and give that a go,cheers

I use ss mesh(400)and it's been driving me nuts today as the fecking resistance changes after every vape. I've tried new wick,0.2/0.3 and kanthal ribbon but they all do it,one vape will be 3 ohms, next will be 1.3 ohms, next will be different again. I've checked the coils/connections are tight, made the coil and then inserted the wick and no matter which way I try,I get hotspots, dry hits ( unless I hold the atty on its side,or dual-coil which then makes chasing the resistance issue impossible) I will go try a little cotton inside the wick, but doubt that'll help as the instant a hotspot appears, the cotton just burns causing coughing as it tears my throat away.

your mesh isnt touching the bottom of your atty is it,sounds like a short.

What's the PG/VG ratio of your juice? As I understand it, for high VG juices you want 300 mesh

If using a genny, try putting a sleeve of ekowool just on the end where your coil go's. Then wrap coil over it.
