Hi,

just a general question for ppl who add 10ml nic bottles into a 100ml shortfill bottle.

I usually use 6mg of nic into a 100ml short fill bottle. But as you know these bottles are generally made to fit 2 x 10ml bottles to make 3mg nic.

so 4 x 10ml will not fit. What methods do ppl use to mix 4 bottles of nic with 100ml of juice?

I usually fill the 100ml right to the top usually leaving just over 1 bottle and a bit of nic left. Then fill an empty 10ml bottle with the full bottle of ejuice and then empty the remaining nic into the 100ml bottle.

hope this makes sense but is there an easier way to make sure everything is mixed correctly etc?

I've used a clean empty 200ml liquer bottle, dumped the lot inside, shook it, then poured most of it back in the original container and topped it up after vaping 15ml or so, but now I keep a few spare empty 200m l shortfill bottles for the job..

I've found adding 4 nic shots dilutes the flavour of many juices too much - adding 3 nic shots and a same flavour 10ml 18/20mg MTL juice seems to boost the flavour so its not too week.

If you use a larger container/bottle you don't have to shake it for long to get it to mix, whereas totally filling a shortfill bottle means you have to shake the damn thing for weeks. Make sure the container you use is clean though (I sterilise them first using home brew stuff, then rinse with cold water), washing them with regular washing up liquid solution is OK if you're going to vape it soon, but if there is any contamination the juice may turn nasty over time, so be careful.

Hi bud a mate of mine he is in 6mg as well & buys the 100ml short fills too he just purchased some 120ml bottles from lubrisolve .

Now I'm confused. Shortfills usually come in either 60ml or 120ml bottles, containing shortfills of 50ml and 100ml respectively. You add 10ml of nic-shot to the 50ml, or 20ml to the 100ml, to make a total of 60ml or 120ml at 3mg/ml nicotine. (Using nic-shots at 18mg/ml)

So buying 120ml bottles won't help you get 6mg/ml, it will still only be 3mg/ml.

And adding 40ml of nicotine shots to 100ml of juice doesn't take you to 6mg/ml either - with 18mg/ml nic-shots you get 5.14mg/ml, and even with 20mg/ml nic-shots you only get 5.71mg/ml.

The only way to get a 100ml shortfill (100ml of over-flavoured juice in a 120ml bottle) to 6mg/ml nicotine is to use a bottle with at least 150ml capacity, and use 5 nic-shots at 18mg/ml, or 4.29 nic-shots at 20mg/ml. Both these options dilute the juice a whole lot more than the makers intended.

For standard 18mg/ml nic-shots, here is the maths.

1x10ml bottle at 18mg/ml of nicotine contains 180 mg of nicotine.
5 nic-shots therefore contains 900 mg of nicotine.
Adding 5 nic-shots to 100 ml of juice makes 150ml of juice.
900 mg of nicotine divided into 150ml of juice = 6mg/ml.

Hmm I get what u mean with the bottle size but to have to add 5 instead of 4? Why do all suppliers provide 4 bottles of nic when you select the juice and 6mg and not 5 bottles?

If was charitable, I would say they do it because they can't add up, and it's worse if they supply 18mg/ml nic-shots (giving you 5.14mg/ml nic - that's a long way from 6mg/ml - you are only getting 85% of your 6mg/ml target) than if they supply 20mg/ml nic-shots (giving you 5.7mg/ml which is much closer to 6mg/ml - you are achieving 95% of your 6mg/ml target). If I was less charitable I would say they do it to deceive the customer for some reason, but I see it so much and see so many people who think that because you are getting 3mg/ml when you add 2x10ml of 18mg/ml, that you should get 6mg/ml when you add 4 bottles, neglecting the fact that you are diluting the nicotine by a larger factor when you add more volume, that I reckon its just a lack of basic maths skills, rather than any intent to deceive.

IF your nic-shots are 18mg of nicotine per ml, and they are 10 ml bottles, that IS 180mg of nic per bottle. 4 bottles is therefore 720 mg of nicotine. Adding 4 bottles to 100ml of juice gives you 140ml of juice, with 720 mg of nicotine in it, of this there is no doubt. 720 divided by 140 = 5.14 mg of nicotine per ml of juice. The maths doesn't lie. :)

To tell u the truth I sometimes did wonder why I didn’t get a nicotine rush in the morning like I did I the pre made 10ml 6mg bottles. Guess there’s something to it. Would splitting a bottle of 100ml into 2 60ml bottles then adding 2 nics to each make that difference up?

No, adding 2 nics to 50ml is the same as adding 4 nics to 100ml, unfortunately. If it's 18mg/ml nicotine, you need to add 25ml of it to each 50ml. That's a ratio of 1:2, so you are diluting your 18mg/ml into 3 parts, turning it into 6mg/ml.

Shortfills as they are sold as standard only really work properly for 3mg/ml, unfortunately.

Ah ok I think I totally got u so basically it’s never accurate unless 3mg. Well I guess a little less nicotine wont do no harm lol. Thank you for your time and education into this.
