Mixing disaster :(

So I got some mixing gear from leisure liquids. I tried mixing up some 8mg 50/50 VG/PG liquid this morning. I used 20% Capella Cinnamon Danish flavouring, and the result is just... blurgh. It kind of tastes like those atomic fireball sweets. So after that I cleaned my clearo (incidentally, it was VERY difficult to get the cinnamon flavour to go away), and mixed up a batch of 15% Capella peanut butter. Just tried it and it tastes like bubblegum?! Now I love bubblegum, but this is disappointing. I've checked and double checked that I didn't screw up the measurements when I was mixing. The only thing I can think of now is to let them steep and hope for the best. Anyone have any clue where I've gone wrong here?

Id say from my limited experience you need to let em steep as even after 24hrs it will be different, I mixed up a three flavour juice and straight away one flavour stood out now after 24hrs that flavour had died down and another was dominant now just tried again and id say that it isnt half bad thats after a 48 hr steep. I am allowing it at least 4-5 days but will probably try after 7 and it may well be different again (as im finding out).

Most capellas that ive mixed need at least a week sometimes two
patience theyll turn cheers andy

Thanks guys, figured they'd have to steep. Serves me right for being impatient!

+1 for steeping. I am patient enough to let things steep, normally 14 days, but I have read that some microwave the juice to speed things up. (5-7 secs depending on power of microwave). But be aware that some bottles can melt, even with this short burst. Personally I have avoided this method as I enjoy sampling along the way and watching how the juice changes over time!

I'd be too scared of wrecking the juice to heat it. I'll just need to muster the patience to let them do their thing.

I know most concentrates need a steep, but we all are impatient and try it anyway, but Capella is one of the concentrates that really do need to steep, I would say for 7 days plus. The taste from unsteeped to steeped completely changes the longer you leave it. Hope you enjoy the steeped version.

Steeping is vital and some need longer than others.
I usually just leave mine in a cupboard with the top of and shake daily, some stand them on a sunny windowsill, some put them in airing cupboards, I've even heard of people using ultrasonic cleaners.
Steeping is just speeding things up by providing air and warmth. It makes so much difference to flavour that when I make a test sample of a new recipe I never taste for at least 24 hours, sometimes a week or more depending on flavour or concentrate make.

Patience is a virtue :)
