Hi i have tried mixing capella apple and capella menthol single flavours. Made it 80/20 both of them tried all different % 5% 10% 15% 20% just seem to taste chemicly and a very slight hint of flavour but tasted rubbish still. Could someone please tell me what how to mix a simple nice single flavour i know tastes are different but could you tell me how you mix it. Main things i need to know is , what brand of concentrates to use? If it needs steeped? Sweetner? Pg/vg ratio you use? I have tried all different combos and failed.

Capella i use at 10%, however the menthol is quite strong so start with just drops and adjust to taste.

Did you let them steep ? most liquid tastes chemical straight away, they need time to blend.

What tastes awful now could be heavenly in a weeks times, some take 3/4 weeks to fully develope.

Failing this maybe you cocked up the recipe unlikely if just using one flavour though.

A lot of people swear by them but in my experience i find capella flavourings shit. Every one i have tried tastes of chemicals and has an unpleasant aftertaste. Have tried strawberries & cream, bubblegum and cherry cola and they have all been the same, even after 4 - 6 weeks steeping.

The ones i have had the best results with have been Flavourart, inawera and T-juice high voltage and (surprise surprise) Red astaire.
Flavourart and inawera seem to be a bit stronger than others as well so the concentrates go a lot further.

As for mixing it, i just bung everything in a bottle and give it a shake. Different people have different techniques i guess but i make them the same way i make a glass of squash. Put the flavour in, then the nic, then the pg and vg.

As for pg/vg ratios, use whatever the hell YOU prefer. Thats the joy of mixing. Vg does mute flavour a little so may be worth adding a couple of extra drops of flavour concentrate to compensate for it.

Have you tried Red astaire ? Pm me if you haven't ;)

I didnt im gonna do a 100% vg with blueberry gonna leave it for awhile to see. I thought menthol would be good straight away. Il learn eventually :-).

You might have used too much menthol if you are doing a single flavour mix, you may only want 2% or so up to 5% as it can be quite strong. I don't know what strength the capella one is without looking it up though.

You can use Koolada to make the menthol "colder".

Menthol should be good to go right away, but you will be best off leaving it for 24 hours after a damn good shake or by mixing with a milk frother.

I use capella green apple and it results in a nice tangy apple juice, as for menthol I bought crystals from Boots and dissolved them in PG.

What sort of solution strength do you make with the crystals and then how much do you put in a juice?
