Hi guys, thanks for all your help on my previous thread. I’m starting to get my head around juices/short fills and Nic shots!

I have another query:

I bought a Smok Baby Prince Stick Starter Kit a while back and want to take it to the next level without spending too much money. I just want to be able to use my existing tank , but be able to change some basic settings.

What would be a good/cheap mod that I can use with the TFV12 Baby Prince tank?

Sorry for my noobness, but I haven’t got a clue about anything relating to mods, so just want something I can change the wattage on really. I was looking at the mag baby, but only goes up to 50 watts and can’t change the battery!? Is that bad? Can I use any mod? Does it have to be Smok? A certain power output?

Thanking you in advance, from a clueless vaper!

Most people on here aren't fans of smok. Any mod will do really, I have my smok xbaby on an aegis legend and it works/fits fine. Really the thing to look for is fit, you don't want something where your tank has overhang. It will annoy the hell out of you. There are loads of suggestions and reviews on here, try looking in the bargains thread too, you'll find something that fits your needs. Not very helpful, I know but......

Yes, I’m not exactly the biggest fan either, but I’m kinda stuck with it for now. Cheers for the info, I’ll check out the reviews section.

It doesn't have to be a Smok mod. The tank you have does need a fair bit of power though, so I think it depends on your budget. Your cheapest option would be to get a mod with the battery built-in. There are a few that could power that tank, but not many. The other option would be a mod with batteries you swap out. With that you would need to factor in the cost of batteries (4 probably) and a charger on top of the mod. It's generally considered safer to charge 18650s in an external charger rather than in a mod.

Any mod with a 510 connection will do (which is almost all of them). As said youryo using a tfv12 so you need a mod that will handle it. So anything that can do 80+ watts.

Yeah mike1980 im in similar situation i just bought the full size mag kit tho. But looking for new mod now, as this one is not reading my coils, so just be careful with the mag, im hoping its not a common problem, but like the guys are saying it seems like a few people are not really going for the smok range, i have the tfv12 tank too it came with my mod. But looking myself for a reliable mod i am used too pretty high wattage tho i have built up abit of a tollerance. Well was vaping around 80-90 watts but prefer now too be at 50-70 to save battery, let me know how you get on, i will keep you posted if i come across any that may be useful too. All the best

Try using a good mod that is very accurate and see how your tolerance is. When I was using smok I was vaping at 130w I now use dna mods and I'm 65w but I use temp control these days so wattage doesn't really matter too much

I like smok - but , it`s another vote for the aegis legend

TeslaCigs WYE 200. A great dual 18650 mod. Well built and does everything you'd expect of it. I use mine with Smok TFV8 Big Baby Beasts and Baby Beasts. If you want to get the best out of a Smok tank, look at getting an RBA deck and do away with Smok's woeful stock coils.

Nice to know there’s others in a similar situation.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Smok coils are... well... pants really! They are just so hit and miss. I got a pack of five and only one worked how I’d expect. 3 just bubbled and leaked and one just had no flavour!

This may sound like a dumb question, but are there any other coils from other companies that are compatible with the Smok tank I have?
I’m thinking about leaving Smok behind and giving the Uwell Numchaku a go.
