Being a newby to vaping I'm finding it a bit of a minefield. I've primarily started as an aid to quitting smoking and it is helping alot. I've started with the ego starter kit and added a case, spare 1100mah battery, a couple of extra CE5 clearomizers and a spare CE5 coil. Is this setup ok for my needs? Whats the pros and cons of going down the mod route? Are they just for enthusiasts or is there any benefit in performance /cost to my starter kit?

Thanks in advance

Daz

Although I haven't used CE5's personally I believe they are a reasonable performer. Yes you could upgrade but it really comes down to two things... Does what I've got do what I want it to? And do I want to spend more money? If you're happy then leave well alone. If you want better then welcome to the path of shinyitis and low bank balances lol.

The ego route was good for me,still use at work on a daily basis but bought a couple of juices that didnt taste right, looked on here for answers and found adjusting volts/watts can change flavour and vape experience.Took the plunge and got a z max and bottom coil attys, played with settings and must admit I quit stinkies on the ego but the mod experience is completely different and get on it as soon as I get home. Have you not got anyone close or a shop yhat will let you try one with your clearo's, just be warned once bitten your bank account will take a battering lol

Completely true!! I still have a couple of ego's as backups and still use them. If you just want to quit the stinkies and the ego's are doing the job, then you could stick with them. Using a mod gives a slightly different experience in that you can up the volts for a hotter vape or to adjust how it feels. For many of us, I'd say that it's become something of a hobby. I wouldn't say that they are just for enthusiasts. I would imagine that you can get a mod, use it, and not have it become a hobby. . . . but be prepared to be bitten by the vaping bug

I received a vision victory bcc 5ml tank today and I must say it's miles better than my CE5's. More vapour and taste along with a better throat hit. The flavour and hit seem to fade away after a few minutes on my CE5's until I pick it up again after leaving it for a while. Would a mod improve this any more? I'm on a tight budget as I'm unemployed at the moment so don't want to fork out for any unnecessary gear, I just want the best vaping experience I can get on a budget I can afford.

Edit: I also think the vision victory would look alot more balanced on a mod than it does on my eGo batts.

Mrdaz, if your willing to be patient,I received today a innokin itaste mvp from fastech, as far as I can tell its legit and paid £27 del to my door(the risk is if it goes wrong) worked out the box, adjustable volts only but seems a good bit of kit. If you want an all singing/dancing one a new one is coming out soon adjustable vv and vw removable battery and looks well smart(may have to get it when it comes out too, I like parcels to open)as I said took 16 days to get here so not too bad until your the one waiting. They do have a few good mods on there all I would say is stick with the named ones, ie Seigeli or Innokin

Do you get stung with import tax ordering from abroad?

Not at all Daz,just come thru normal post nowt to pay, I dont think (may be wrong) anybody on here has had to pay alltho 1 or 2 have cancelled orders due to long delays in supplying.I was getting impatient I will admit but original order did say ships in 4 working days then they had dragon boat race and two weekends so all in all not too bad. I would suggest no big orders, post is free so split any big orders into smaller ones

Mrdazjones ..usually no tax .them clever oriental gentlemen and laydeez mark them up as "gift $4 "for example .to avoid such problems

I'm not that patient though unfortunately, if I make my mind up I want something then I want it now! Will have a look though, might be worth the wait if the price is right.

Thanks for the heads up.
