quick question how do you work out how much of each flavour to add to a mix if using more than one ie 3 flavours for one mix.
cheers

If they're new flavour I've not tried before I mix small samples of each flavour separately to gauge the strength and taste of each..

Say two flavours taste good at 10% I'll try a mix with 5% of each (if I want them to taste equal in strength) .. Then tweak to perfection (for your taste obviously) then I'll add a third flavour and see how it affects the flavour.. Then tweak to perfection again..

You're likely need to drop the percentage of each flavour as you add another one to the mix..

But just because 3 flavours taste good at a certain percentage doesn't mean that's the percentage you'll want in a mix.. You need to imagine which flavours you want to be main flavours and which only slight.

It's fun learning so get stuck in :)

In addition to the good advice above: start a log book, and keep detailed notes of every mix. All the ingredients, quantities, as much as possible. You might want to keep a record of any special mixing or steeping methods, too, although I'm not as convinced as some that these make much of a difference.

Once you get something right, you don't want to have to rely on memory to do it again - especially as it often takes a fair bit of time and experimentation before that happens. I have to check my notes, even when I'm making a batch of something I've done numerous times before, in case I did something subtly different with that last batch that really worked.

thx for the advice i have started keeping notes on the 2 i have done already .
cheers

My most successful multi flavour juices have been via blending rather than mixing, using single flavour diy juices that I've previously made, at their optimum flavour concentrations.
I've had some good multi flavour juices by mixing flavourings as I build the juice. x% of this,x% of that etc, but blending is the way forward for me.
