Hi all, I'm hoping to get some suggestions for my first squonk mod with a mtl rda, looking at a very simple (budget)setup ,I don't really need any temp control or high watts..have my eyes on a 2 mods. Luxotic surface and vandy vape. One of my questions is how much would I loose or gain going to mech mod , having in mind my needs. And I'm a bit concerned about safety. Would really like to hear some mtl rda suggestions too. I am currently vaping kroma with zenith. Tank you.

If you can still find them then this is the perfect cheap MTL Squonk starter kit
Vandy Vape Simple EX Squonk Kit

I reviewed it last year but still one of my favourites.

Other than that this is my current favourite MTL Squonk setup:
Vapefly Galaxies MTL Squonk RDTA mounted on an Eleaf Pico Squeeze 2 but also works great on the Simple EX
I reviewed the Galaxies RDTA here:

Semi regulated mechs are ideal for MTL RDA's as most coils are well in the safety range, you can get an Aspire Feedlink Squonk Mod very cheap and hits perfectly.

I got a vapefly galaxies mtl squonk rdta a few days ago, found it really easy to coil and wick and because you can see the liquid in the tank part it takes the guess work out of when to squonk so youre not over squonking/under squonking. (squonkling free, the squonkers of squonkledon common are we)

@Black Coffee I would disagree with @Vapaneezer Scrooge about the simple ex. It was the first squonk I got and quite liked it, but after getting the original pico squeeze shortly afterward the simple ex went back in the box.

The liquid capacity of the bottle is not good, I have tanks that hold more, it’s a pain in the arse and can be messy to fill, and the battery life is pretty shit. Also although it’s quite small, it’s pretty “boxy” so not really more stealthy than the squeeze.

I would recommend the og pico squeeze. If you don’t mind not have adjustable power. And a clone salix rda. Then you’ll be sorted.

In turn I would disagree with @zouzounaki  about the Salix RDA, its good but not a patch on the Galaxies RDTA, airflow, capacity and flavour.

The Pico Squeeze original isn't a bad choice apart from its hard bottle, a Vapefly Holic would look good on it (again much better than the Salix).

The Simple EX kit has adjustable power, included great RDA, coils included, naturally it won't last as long as an 18650 battery mod but I had a couple of them or took a powerbank out with me to charge it on the go. cheap as f**k if you can still find them so an ideal starter kit.

I don’t know, carrying a big powerbank in the pocket defeats the purpose of a small stealthy device. As does carrying two of them about. But it’s all subjective. I was surprised you didn’t like the salix, vap. It stopped me being interested in trying other RDAs.

Tank you for the suggestions..any thoughts on wotofo nudge and wismec luxotic?..I really like the looks of them..and the fact that nudge has a fuse....
