My RSST arrived this morning and just finished off building the mesh wick and coil. I cant see any hot spots and vape is good. According to my multimeter its running at 2.6ohm, would reducing the number of coils lower my ohm?

What Kanthal mate, 2.6 seems high with 4 wraps if its .20 its normally 1.6 ish. are you also calibrating the multimeter by touching the red and black together taking that reading and then deduct this from your reading off the Atty

Yep, reducing the coils would drop the ohms, but like Carl says it seems unusually high. Saying that, if it's working use it :)

Its 0.16mm nichrome from i vapour elixir ( wanted to test out rbas so bought the small sample of wire instead of whole reels from elsewhere) just retested and multimeter reads 0.5 when touching the pins together and 3.1m when i touch the positive and negative terminals.

i would like to aim to build one nearer 1.6ohm so may attempt reducing down to three wraps and see what happens

ok you need .2 Kanthal then mate, thats why it is high with using .16. or down the wraps.

@Carlos thanks for the heads up I'll delve into the wiki regarding wire thickness and ohms and then find a suitable seller listed on here and get a bit more mesh and wire in.

I like this rba, will take some getting used to compared to an evod but i can see the benefits. my only drawbacks is that the top cap could do with two orings to stop it wobbling and that it looks a bit daft on an ego vv, going to need to get a decent battery mod now

edit, my only concern is that it take a while for the vapour to build up and if i take the cap off i notice it spits a bit off the side of the coil, should this be normal? - after an extensive googling i read a suggestion that the wire isnt keeping up with the performance of the wick, with the ohm in getting this sounds applicable to my case.

bit of an update, re-wired down to three wraps and used the kink technique to remove hotspots at top and bottom and reads 1.8ohm. thought i fried my twist as it was flashing constantly and wouldn't fire then realised i had run out of charge. think Ive been vaping too much today.

now to let the wick bed in and see the flavour improve.

One final question, in regards to mesh wicks, do i have to change the wick when swapping flavours or can i rinse it off?

good to here you have sorted it mate, in regards to the wick, I never disgard a good seasoned wick mate, all I do is once a week when the juice is low dry burn it in situ and use a soft toothbrush (our lasses if she is pissing me off lol Joke) to take off any build up on the coil. some remove the wick and burn off and place the wick back, if your lucky you will get it back in without disturbing the coil as well.
