I'm very interested in building an extremely powerful battery box mod,or buying one such as the Grand Innovations GI2 (100 watts) so any devices I see posted here on POTV get me reading avidly. As a result,I've decided to swap from 18650 batteries to some kind of LiPo type batteries as these LiPo batteries seem to have insane "C" ratings. As this device I intend building is going to be around the 100 watts capability,I also want it to have variable power so I can use "standard" wire sizes as well as "fence wires" for my coils. :P

This was where I was struggling,as the most powerful variable device I'd seen was the DNA30's which runs to a feeble 30 watts. Then I heard about a couple of projects using PCB's such as the Arduino which also controlled OLED/LCD screens etc,and yet more devices using R/C speed controllers, but these projects seemed to be complex and often buggy, resulting in failures of the device.

It was suggested I had a look at some other vaping forums to see what the modders were using, but last time I'd been on other forums the majority of other devices were still only 30 watts max, with an occasional 50 watts.

Then earlier,I was wandering round the other forums where I stumbled on this http://apps.geindustrial.com/publibrary/checkout/NSR020A0X?TNR=Data Sheets|NSR020A0X|generic <------NAOS Raptor 20A module so went looking for places to buy one. They can be bought in the UK for about £13,there is a wiring diagram on another forum(though I would be inclined to use much heavier gauge wires for some of the wiring)so my thoughts of building a mental VV box mod just got so much closer to happening.

Once I have built this mod,I will resume quad coiling my W3 as this mod will be able to light up all 4 coils rapidly even if I use 1mm ribbon wires :P & steal the title off Rags as the most mental RDA user

Raguri I believe that a 20+ amp box mod can be built using some kind of parallel Naos build,or a relatively simple bypass built to transfer the full C rating of the LiPo's  THEN we're talking of 100's of amps(if I can build in the wiring capable of carrying that much current) :P

14 awg and 10 awg. :). Sorted. Already feel bad about the nzonic, so might put some money aside each week and try to build myself an unregulated lipo box... im technically loosing a whole volt with the launcher.

I have a raptor board. Still figuring out how I'm going to use it (I did a mini group buy on another forum). Probably put it in conjunction with an arduino and a small OLED screen.

You can push them past the 6V output they're rated for.

Personally I think that if you're going for high power, it's much easier to up the volts than the amps.

That's why I love posting in this section of the forum,as my limited (evaporating slowly) knowledge of electrics will always have someone to post corrections to my twisted thinking. Thanks doobedoobedo

You're most welcome. If you look at the data sheet for it, it gives an equation for the output volts against the trimmer resistance. Bear in mind though that volts out can't be higher than volts in and as the volts go up the resolution goes down.

sounds awesome chegs id love to see it

Just need wait for a payday that won't require me to buy in a shedload of mixing gear (at least a months worth of spare cash is presently earmarked for mixing kit) and then I'm going looking for a Raptor board or 2.These devices will probably fit in the blue anodised box I have ordered from China so once a simple 18650 mod has been photo'd & the pics uploaded on POTV for Dexters "tin box" mod kit, then I'll look at converting the box to a mega-powered mod.If it doesn't fit in the blue box, then I'll source a clone Hammond box from China & those I do know will take the NAOS.

(Biggest issue will be persuading the GF that I MUST buy the gear to build it  as she can object to the strangest things occasionally, usually resolved by me saying "oh well,I'll go back to smoking then as you never objected to anything I wanted then" )

I just say to mine how many pairs of shoes do you need
