Need some advice/suggestions please!

Hey everyone,

Newbie here!

Was hoping to get some advice or suggestions on a good vape to get.

I've been vaping for about 3 years and starting to cut down usage. I previously had the smok X-PRIV but the battery life is pants and tank is leaking.

Instead of getting a replacement mod kit as I use it less, I thought I'd try the Nord 4.

So it seems alright, but I'm vaping at max wattage and just about getting the MTL hit I like. Not sure if getting a diff coil will help or am I better off getting a new mod kit.

Any help would be appreciated

Ive not used this kit but did have a couple of the original nord pods which were average on flavour. im not the best to advise on these but if you do decide to go back to box mods like the x priv then just holler.

if your more into mouth to lung then maybe the 1ohm or 1.2ohm coil might be better for a tighter draw. no idea what wattage these coils are.

a quick google shows:
For 50:50 e-liquid, use:
- RPM pod with RPM 0.3Ω, 0.8Ω, 1.0Ω or 1.2Ω coils (not included)
- RPM2 pod with RPM 2 0.6Ω coil (not included)

For high VG e-liquid, use:
- RPM 2 pod with RPM 2 0.16Ω coil (included) or 0.25 coil (not included)
- RPM pod with RPM 0.4Ω (included) or 0.6Ω coils (not included)

• RPM 2 0.16Ω coil: 25 - 50W (best: 40W)
• RPM Mesh 0.4Ω coil: 25W

for pods maybe @DeeDee aka (Pod Queen) might be able to advise better.

As Mr DJ said their are many coils for the Nord 4 and whilst i have not used it myself ive heard good things.

What coil and AF did unuse on the smok priv previously? When you say mtl is it a airy mtl or a restricted DL?

What would you recommend as a good mod?
Not looking to break the bank, but something that's reliable and doesn't leak! (not asking for much am I!? Haha)

It does feel quite airy, good way to explain it. There's good flavour and cloud, but just missing that hit. So maybe a diff coil would do the trick.

I used the baby mesh coils 0.15Ω on a big baby beast tank with full airflow, so that's why I thought the RPM2 Meshed coil 0.16 on the nord would be fine, but I don't imagine vaping on max wattage is a good thing...

Ah ok so you are Direct to Lung. Not mtl? The hit will come from higher nic or a more intense hit from a Mouth to lung device i believe.

Haha I have no idea, I thought I was MTL as I inhale into my mouth first then take a deeper inhale but I could be wrong

I did reduce my Nic because it was enough with my previous mod, doesn't sit right to increase that for the device itself. So maybe I'll consider getting another mod kit, might be better suited.

I think the NORD 4 is quite a leap downwards, perhaps something like a smaller mod and tank kit might be a better move?

The Aegis Mini 2 springs to mind with the top airflow preventing leaking and the coils are good, battery life is decent for a single cell.

Both have higher ohm coils which will be better for cutting down you eliquid consumption.

Take a nose through the reviews to see if anything grabs your attention and ask (top airflow tanks are generally the better leakproof option)
