Hi all, been lurking here for a couple of days taking in as much info as possible.
I have been a smoker for 39 years but am about to take the plunge into vaping! I was given a SKYCIG trial pack just after xmas with mixed feelings only one of the three cartridges supplied was any use i.e it lasted more than a few hours.
This got me searching the web for a better product as I felt that SKYCIG were a bit "hit and miss" After serching for reviews etc I realised they would not be for me although they are a very convenient size. I then stumbled upon clearomizers etc. and have decided to go down this route.
Having looked at a few kits on the net I am drawn to this one http://www.vapourbase.co.uk/joyetech-ego-c-twist-vv-kanger--t3-starter-kit-248-p.aspthe main reasons being the kanger T3 review by Todd on this forum and the 2 batteries, this would be my only kit for now and would have to see me through during the day when at work and at home in the evenings.
So....a few questions!

I currently smoke about 25 a day, would the batteries be suitable for someone who would possibly be vaping a fair amount initially...due to the slower intake of nicotine?
I am open to suggestions if there are better alternatives out there!
The juice I would start with would possibly be 24g, not sure if this would be too high?
How much juice do people use on average? Looking at some of the vendors prices can be as much as £15 for 30ml....I guess the cheapest way is to mix your own which i would be more than happy to do after a short while as i see there are alot of usefull tips on here:grin2:

Any help or tips would be great as I am looking to order a kit early next week!

Vape on!

:hello: Steve and welcome to the planet! Glad you found us!

To answer your questions:

That is an excellent Kit to go for. 650 mah is relatively low for me for all day, I was a 20+ a day and found that I needed two 900mah batteries. In the last year, I moved up to big battery mods.

So always have one battery to use, the other charged or charging so you can go back n forth when they run out.

Maybe get a 3rd large capacity battery as well.

I started on 36mg juice and went to 24 with a couple of weeks. I now vape between 16 and 18mg but can go as low as 12 with no side effects a year on. So 24 would be a great starting point.

I consider myself an average vaper and I use about 3-5ml of juice a day. All though I lost track some time ago since I just "top up" my tanks or drippers now.

Batteries will typically last you 6-9 months, however, I have some cigalike batteries that still work from 2010!

Your cartos/clearos/tanks/atties are going to be your "disposable" items, so you will want to make sure you always have a fair bit on hand just in case a coil goes bad too.

There are SO many juices out there to start off with, try a few flavours, some baccy some sweet. My husband swore hed never like anything that wasnt a baccy flavour and hes vaping my KMS-y4 which is chocolate, carmel, vanilla and a wee bit of Irish Cream :)

Welcome to the planet Steve!

I was a 30-40 a day smoker(rollies) for 20 years and when I began vapeing was using 18mg to start with stepping down to 12mg within a month, while on 12mg I was using 2-5mls a day dripping, never had a tank I really liked as I always ran into leaking issues, started on a 650mah ego which would last me for 6 hours or so of almost constant vapeing. Soon moved up to a big battery mod(Lavatube using 18650 batts) which would see me through a whole day before needing a charge.

If you are looking to get juices cheap I recommend www.mtbakervapor.com takes 10-20 days for juices to reach the UK from the states, but they charge lowest prices I've seen for good quality juices, roughly £7 for 50mls of juice, you can use code UKVapors for 10% discount also.

Some amazing vendors in the UK also, WaveofVapor and PixieJuice being my personal favorites. I'd recommend getting small sample bottles of juices when you can to start to find what you enjoy, then buy some larger ones as you go along.

Looks like a good kit choice. Chances are a single battery will not last you a full day. My starter kit had 1100mAh batteries, and in the beginning, a single battery wouldn't last me a full day. As time passed that changed. re: nic level - I seriously wanted to quit my 25+ year habit, so I started @ 36mg to make SURE I didn't have any cravings. When I quit, I was smoking 20+ Marlboros a day.

Almost same story here apart from the Marlboro

Welcome Steve. Your story sounds similar to mine only I wasted a lot of money on cigalike cartomisers (still got £80 worth, will sell). They cut my smoking down a little but didn't really do anything so I got an ego kit, only with cartridges that ended to leak into your mouth, clearos were new. I've now moved up to big battery mods and mot looked back.
The Planet is a good place. :)
