Hi guys, just received my new internal battery mod today. (Target 80).

On the included tank (itank by vaporesso) vaping on a .4ohm coil - I literally took 20 draws on it at 40 Watts and the battery went down by 25%

I then plugged it in and it showed it will take around 15 mins to fully recharge but watching the screen the battery was going up 1% every second and recharged fully in less than 30 seconds. Is this normal or is it a faulty battery and I should request a replacement?

Thanks

did you fully charge it first before you started using it. batteries usually come with around 25% charge and on first charge it can take a good couple of hours. also how are you charging it? via usb or mains plug and if mains plug is it a phone usb or specific from vape shop.

even though an 80watt mod, ive found they cant take high wattage continuosly as its a strain on the battery.
plug it in and leave it a good hour then try agaain and report back.

It doesnt sound right but as @MrDJ said charge the mod fully so it indicates full charge. Vape on it and monitor how long it takes to drain the battery till it cuts out (fully discharged ). Then charge again to full charge.
It should take 1-2 hours to fully charge and roughly 8 hrs to discharge while vaping on it.

It came in almost fully charged. I plugged it in into the wall socket with a built in usb port - it is able to output 2.4 Amps and the mod itself allows for quick charge at 2amps. It took maybe 10-15 min to fully recharge. So it basically went from 100% to 75% by taking 20 puffs.

it may look almost fully charged but usually it isnt.

all i know is the last 60w mod i had with a single 2500mah 18650 would last 1 hour 10 minutes on a full charge at 50watts so on your at 40watt on a built in battery 3000mah i cant see it lasting maybe 3-5 hours max.

best thing is fully charge and vape and take no notice of the % and continue vaping tll it totally drains and stops. then let us know how long it lasted.

I actually bought a natilus 3 to go with it but still waiting for the postie to bring in my 50/50 liquid to go in it. Until then I thought I'll give the itank a spin with my high VG liquid but now I'm concerned about the battery. The Nautilus will be vaped at around 10-15 watts. But I also have a Doric 60 pod mod and that has a 2500mah battery and vaping at 25 watts lasts me all day untill in drops down to 50% battery so I'm not sure about the target 80

Battery bars on mods are notoriously inaccurate - some will show 100% for ages and then start to plummet when the batteries are half discharged, some drop fast but will still work fine when the display shows low batteries.

I would just vape it until it craps out and use the puff counter (if it has one) to figure out if it's worth recharging or if there is still life left in it.

even though there are plenty of 60 or 80w kits hitting the market with high end tanks that go upto 80w i personally think any sub tank that needs to be vaped at 40 or above should always be used with duall battery mods only.

As already said Battery Bars all work differently and readings are or can be inaccurate, it was something that worried me when i first started vaping but now it really doesn't bother me, charge it fully even though it might show as full on the meter it might not be, you can't overcharge it as it will have protection. When it's charged set your puff counter to zero then run it flat, that way you will know if the battery is naff though Vaporesso are normally very reliable and i can't see it being faulty, i have a Target 80 and never had any problems with it and have used it quite a lot. I usually vape at 35-40w and pretty much get a full day out of it but am using other Mods as well.

A little update. Had it plugged in for about an hour last night even though it showe 100%. I'm on 155puffs now and the battery is still showing 65%. That's on 35 Watts so it's actually pretty decent. Will easily last me the whole. Thanks guys
