OK so quick resume, I'm 49, been vaping for nearly 5 years now, started as many do on clearo's and re-coiling evods etc, moved onto Kayfun, Lemo, Aqua V2 and UTA2 just coiling my own single and dual micro's upto 3mm, all is fine I keep telling myself....er, well I'm sure I'm missing something. I have no close friends or family who vape so have only learned what I know from here over the years and seem to have got stuck in my ways as things have moved on.
I don't have lot's of hardware, I have 2 mods only, a daily original IPVmini and an IPV2x for at home, they're not new anymore but still work so have not need to change them.
I do need something shiny though, fed up spending my cash on the kids lol...

I've been doing the same thing for so long now I feel I need to break away from this meh as it doesn't give me enough satisfaction, although my Lemo's are ok and a dual coil in the Aqua with 0.25 kanthal at 1 ohm is fine, it's borderline fine. Does this make sense? it's probably the best I can explain.
I think it's time for me to join the ranks of sub ohm !
I'm currently on 12mg but at the stage where I'm ready to drop to 6mg and maybe 3mg if necessary so I'm all open for high power and new toys.
My lifestyle with 2 kids is busy so Drippers are difficult, tanks are better for me, I'd rather not start down the stock coil tank route as it eat's into my juice budget, i'm picky yep..
I've been looking at treating myself maybe over the next few months, a set up for at home and a set up for out and about.

So the plan is for me to maybe get one set up before Xmas, a mod and an RTA which I can maybe coil myself ( I can't make claptons or owt like that yet)
I'd really appreciate some suggestions on the two set ups, Mod wise I like for at home the Minikin 2, I know it maybe overkill for me in the power department at the moment but this will also help my battery life if vaping at 30 to 40 watts so no worries.

All help for a somewhat lost vaper most welcomed:)

If you go down the flavour route (me) then things like a genesis with mesh wick (Origen can handle 30w) or Kayfun 5, Rose, clieto etc. For clouds drippers are best (some good flavour too) but will also hit your juice budget. You could consider a squonk mod to use with the dripper.

I'm not the one for advise on cloudy tanks though so someone else might have ideas on these.

I too am after the flavour, thanks for your reply :)
Yes I understand about drippers, I know there are some that can give good flavour these days, unfortunately the actual time I get to sit down in front of the tv and vape is limited, it's easy for me to grab a mod with my tank on and have a vape,

I did opo into a local B&M at lunch and they tried to sell me the Limitless XL tank but I walked away, the deck to me seemed purpose built for massive coils such as claptons etc and I would struggle even with 0.5 kanthal to put a decent dual coil in there? maybe I'm wrong? the other thing was the airflow, I didn't like the way it was centrally above the 510 connection, if it wasn't wicked right this would leak down into the mod.
Chap was telling me I could put in whatever coil I wanted...I wasn't too sure so came on here and thought I'd ask people for some suggestions of what was good.

I haven't tried the limitless but the best way to look at it is the coil size/power compared to the size of the chamber. So if you have a small chamber around the deck and a shortish chimney the flavour should be better (less watts too) This is where a genesis wins (for me) with the tank below the mesh, they are a bit of a pain at first though. This also applies to some of the lower profile drippers but as I said you could stick one on a squonk mod and have a large tank connected to it.

OBS cirus is a nice tank, good flavour and can be picked up at a good price if you look around, the build deck is big enough not to be a pain to build on but not massive so claptons are necessary but will fit if you try. Worth checking out crazy wire company for pre-made clapton wire, its getting some good reviews here and is not silly money, if you do my current favourite tank is the Ijoy Tornado Nano, the build deck is big and chimney short so you can get all sorts of coils in it for great flavour.

Also love my OBS engine, top airflow only so no leaks when out and about, get the coil right and great flavour and clouds to.

You don't have to use claptons for big flavour, lots here love a simple twisted coil or a dual coil for big flavour or there is a video around here that shows a good why to clapton your own wire, its easier than you think ;)

there's so much to choose from these days everyone who answers will have a different idea!

The Wotofo Serpent Mini and Mini 25mm are great little tanks , very easy to build on , personally I've never had one leak ( I have 2 mini's and 1 25mm).I usually use drippers but I use a tank for work and for driving most of the time.I also picked up a Minikin V2 on a Black Friday deal and it's very nice, touchscreen takes some getting used to though.

I've been using my old standbys for a while, Kayfun 4, Kanger Subtanks, Smok TFV4 Mini, Smok Minos etc. I recently got a Geekvape Avocado 24 and I was blown away by it. I started in single coil mode and the volume of clouds and amazing flavour I got with no effort trying to dial it in. I just stuck some cotton in the supplied coil and was away. I like it so much I have ordered an Original 22mm Avocado for my smaller mods. I don't use it if I am going to be doing a lot of walking around as it can leak a little if the wick isn't just right but other than that it is great. I have now gone to dual coil on the Avocado and it is even better, by far the best vape I have ever had from a tank, comparable to my drippers. It has a massive build deck and large coil post with good sized grub screws so is easy to set up and it is easy to fill.

Thanks,
I picked up a minikin v2 today myself, I love it's form/shape and it feels great in the hand too[emoji6]
I did pick up a tank but not what I was after purely due to funds on the day and I wanted a set up to take home. So I took a discounted priced Baby Beast with the additional rda, set it up with dual claptons and my 1st ever try of 3mg juice is a little odd compared to MTL 12mg digbys Dr Jekyl!
It's not bad, just different vaping, I understood this after 5 yrs of high mg MTL it would be a change.
Now I'm off and running I can look to get some of the tanks suggested by you kind folks and learn to make my own claptons or just bigger coils than I'm used to[emoji106][emoji106]
Oh I will have lots of choice in juice too going to 3mg higher vg
So all good so far
Cheers
