So yeah, i'm new here.

Been off the coffin nails about a year now and i've no intentions of going back. I've smoked for longer than i haven't and i've certainly felt better the past year, although i'm not sure my pocket has hahaha.

It's not been the easiest of rides (finding pg doesn't work for me, different mods/tanks, MTL or DTL, etc..), but think i've found something that works for me.

Started out with an iclear tank on an istick 20, which didn't last long. Then got myself the IPV d2 and a subtank mini so i had the option of pre-bought or building my own coils. Found the rebuildable deck had too little airflow for me, so ended up rebuilding the original coils, as the airflow was far better. The thing leaked like a sieve, so in a draw it went and i got myself the steam crave rdta. the d2 with the rdta has been great, but i want a new tank now that will be easier for running a single coil (yes i've built single on this thing and it's not for me. I've also seen the single coil plugs you can buy, but for the few quid extra i may as well get a new tank).

Current tanks i'm looking at are the supreme lite, the avocado and the goblin mini v3 (although reviews seem to say airflow is restrictive, so probably won't be for me which is a shame because i really like the look of the single deck that comes with).

Dipping my toe with DIY liquid at the minute, but it's not going so well which to be honest is the main push for stopping lurking and making an account. Will be posting for advice about this soon, as i'm sure i'm missing something.

There go then folks.

Be gentle with me :)

Mixing is easy, its the steeping that's the killer :17:

Hello @dismal_fett ,nice to meet you Mate!!!

Congrats on being off the stinkies for a year & welcome to POTV.

Whats going wrong with your DIY mixing??

If its low flavor, try leaving it to steep for longer. If its too much flavor then I'm jealous!!

:angrymob:

Thanks @bobcat !

My problem with the mixes is zero flavour, steeped for a week and nothing so added further flavour and steeped for another week and same deal.

Started out with 10% and added the same again after a week, I'd planned for some inconstancies in my first batches so made them a little heavier on the nic than I would normally so I could thin down, although I'd allowed for 4 weeks to steep I would expect there to be something there by now.

They are high in vg, in fact the only pg is in the flavourings. At first I mixed them and left them alone, but I've now started agitating them daily. Dunno why it didn't occur to me to do this from the start, but hopefully this will help it out.

Its probably a combination of not giving them a good shake & using a high % of VG (as this makes it a lovely smooth vape but isn't as good with the flavor as PG).

I had the same problem with my first batch of DIY juices. For the second batch this is what I did & had much better results.

1. Make up juices
2. put all in a plastic bag & then tie into a towel
3. put in tumble dryer for 10-30 mins on gentle heat (you don't want them to get too hot)
3. stick in a drawer for at least another week (probably another 2+), take out & shake every day.
4. buy enough pre-steeped juice to last a few weeks & vape that, while you wait for the flavor to develop.

I now have a lovely selection of juices to play with that have all been steeped nearly a month. The flavor gets stronger with time.

Hope this helps.

(P.s. this is just my steeping recipe, anyone you ask will have another method. But I found the tumble dryer gives it a good start as it gently heats & shakes at the same time)

Hi, and welcome to POTV. there's a wealth of information on here regarding mixing and steeping so i'm sure you'll enjoy being a member .

personally i steep all my juices that are not fruit flavours ( only usually need 1 to 2 week steep for them max) for at least 2 months as i find they really improve and mellow with time. i have some diy and bought juices that have been steeping for 6 months and they are getting better with time.

One important thing to mention and although obvious, is make sure you always shake your flavours ( concentrates) and nic thouroughly before any mixing as this can make a huge difference.

enjoy and welcome to the mad world of mixing !!!
