Hey,

I am trying to get off roll-ups. I’ve tried vaping a few times in past but found maintenance a real hassle - always seemed to get gungy and I wasn’t confident cleaning it out. What the best low maintenance option which will be easiest to clean or replace parts that get lucky. Not worried about cost - would rather something I can get to last

thanks!

Hi @Leanne2027 and welcome to the planet.

give us an idea of what kits you have tried in the past and what strength nicotine.
what flavours have you tried and was it freebase nicotine or nicotine salts.
also what style of vaping, MTL mouth to lung (like smoking where you inhale and then take down to lungs with low wattage, average 10-15watts.
or DTL direct to lung sub ohm which gives big clouds at much higher wattage 25-150watts

coils are the only thing that get cloged up and burn out so a routine of loss of flavour or a burnt taste every 1-2 weeks is take coil out and dump, wash tank out with warm water, put new coil in fill up.

Hi @Leanne2027 and welcome

My favourite low maintenance devices are the innokin sceptre 2 (only 20 notes) and just recently released, the LVE orion 2 (more like 50).

The orion looks a lot nicer (to my eyes at least) but the sceptre 2 does an equally good job, and also has autofire (when you take a draw, no need to push a button).

I used to smoke rollies and these are both capable of a nice tight draw (which roll up smokers tend to prefer... I think). But they can open up to a looser draw, so you're not stuck with that if you don't like it.

The only maintenance is charging, and swapping the coil every few days. The coil on these 2 devices are also better than most (flavourwise, and they last longer).

This is great info - thanks

this is the previous vape I tried twice and I would use nicotine free liquids like these

I think I would be a mouth to lung - didn’t realise there was a difference!

A mod and a tank with top fill and push fit coils imo is so much easier than anything else.

Hi @Leanne2027 welcome to the forum.

I can't fault @MHL reccomendations, you are probably best off with a pod system to start with.
I will say though be wary of buying vape stuff from amazon.
You'll get better more up to date products and more importantly help and support from a reputable vape shop like vaping101.co.uk

+1 for a pod system and a couple of spare tanks so that you can have a different juice in each, and a pack of spare coils. As for juice, if you do get a pod you`ll want a 50%pg/50%vg juice and if you were a heavy smoker probably 20mg salt nic and Bob`s your mothers` brother.

Have a bit of a read around this forum before you jump in, you`ll find plenty of pod talk and probably even some pretty pictures in The Lounge section under "Whats in your hand".

Good luck, I`m sure you`ll soon be able to swap smoke for vapour and be fitter, healthier and probably financially better off.

I really like the look of the Orion 2! When you say swap the coil - is that the part that you put the liquid into as that’s the part I’ve had problems with before. I really appreciate your insight as an ex rollie smoker

Absolutely - I just had to go through some unpleasant medical tests and just really need to get off the smokes. I feel vaping is the best option to help me quit!
