Hi All.

New to the forum and new to Vaping, I have a question if anyone can offer advice. I have opted for the Innoken Sensis and seem to be getting on better with a Direct Lung set up. I have tried a few options but find that my preferred settings are outside of the advised setting in-that my preferred wattage setting is just 17 but the advice is 25-35w. Is it alright to continue at 17w

Hi and welcome :D

Usually the recommended range is just what the manufacturer considers the "sweet spot", running the coils at a lower wattage should be perfectly fine, but going higher can burn out the coils quite quickly.

I should add that your device I am not familiar with at all, but generally stock coil ranges are are just a recommendation.

Hello and welcome!

As Addict says above, the suggested range on the coils is just a guide and you're usually fine a little bit either side.

Thanks. It is all a little confusing to a novice as with the advice on coils. Innoken advises the 0-65ohm coil for MTL yet all other advice seems to say to us above 1-0ohm

i think you made a good choice with the sensis, i'm using the 0.65ohm coil at 12w havn't tried the other supplied coil.
are you using power or coil+ mode? I've seen several people say the coil+ is making the coils last longer for them (to early for me to say as only had it a few days).

Not an MTL user myself so can't really comment on that, a lot of the MTL devices seem to be less than 1ohm now though.

If you've found what works best for you then stick with it ;)

Welcome to the forum. I find that manufacturer's recommended ranges are always on the high side. Carry on with whatever works for you. As the coil gets older you may find you need to bump up the wattage a bit.

That 'all other advice' is very out-dated and irrelevant these days. The resistance (ohms) doesn't really mean anything on it's own without knowing the coil type, coil material and the power going to the coil. Innokin have designed many coils around that resistance that work well for MTL and many people make coils around that resistance for MTL too.

It's the main reason most people used 'DTL and MTL' these days because 'sub-ohm' doesn't make a lot of sense with modern coils and variable wattage. I'm 'sub-ohm' vaping right now..... at 12w MTL.
