Hi all, I am a new user on the site, and I have joined as I am finding it difficult to find information on the best products for a change. I have been using eCigs.... (Smoke Reliefe) for 6 weeks now, and have found them really good in stopping the real thing.. allthough they run out too fast.. I chose that brand as the we made from Vegatable extract rather that the other type, I was informed that this was the only type I could use, as I have had a heart attack 4 Years ago..
So now I cam searching for an alternative, i have seen these tank systems advertised, but wondered is this really cheaper long term? and can I get the right type of Vegtable fluid for it?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Regards

Wayne

Hi wayne

I'd like to know who advised you that that was the only type you could use ? Was it the Smoke relief guys ?

As far as I know PG doesnt have an adverse effect ... though I could be wrong!

There are people out there who make full VG mixes, tho 50/50 is more common these days ...

Prop Glycol from Wiki:

Adverse responses to intravenous administration of drugs which use PG as an excipient have been seen in a number of people, particularly with large dosages thereof. Responses may include "hypotension, bradycardia... QRS and T abnormalities on the ECG, arrhythmia, cardiac arrest, serum hyperosmolality, lactic acidosis, and haemolysis".[24] A high percentage (12% to 42%) of directly-injected propylene glycol is eliminated/secreted in urine unaltered depending on dosage, with the remainder appearing in its glucuronide-form. The speed of renal filtration decreases as dosage increases,[25] which may be due to propylene glycol's mild anesthetic / CNS-depressant -properties as an alcohol.[26] In one case, intravenous administration of propylene glycol-suspended nitroglycerin to an elderly man may have induced coma and acidosis.[27]

According to a 2010 study by Karlstad University, the concentrations of PGEs, propylene glycol and glycol ethers in indoor air, particularly bedroom air, has been linked to increased risk of developing numerous respiratory and immune disorders in children, including asthma, hay fever, eczema, and allergies, with increased risk ranging from 50% to 180%. This concentration has been linked to use of water-based paints and water-based system cleansers.[28][29][30]

Therefore the risk to someone with a previous heart condition is not linked to vaping PG...depending upon how much store you attach to Wiki articles.

From all of my research I've struggled to find evidence that it offers anything other than being an irritant to 2% of samples, I think your advice you were given was misleading.

Hope that helps. :)
