Are you not happy with it at 40w? if not take it out of smart mode put it in 'normal' power/wattage mode (or whatever VooPoo calls it) and adjust the wattage to what you want.

It's not the coil that does the wattage on the mod, the mod in smart mode is set to a certain limit change it from smart to wattage or power snd have it where u want

But any ideas why it only gos to 40 when the coil is 40-50w

So it starts out at the minimum recommended wattage, so you don't burn the coil out as soon as you fire it?

honestly, I don't actually think it's that smart it's just a rough estimated wattage for a coil of that resistance. ..... but 40w is better than 60w in this case.

... it's cant know the rating of the coil, especially when it's a different brand. :)

In smart mode the mod is programmed to give a certain maximum power depending on the ohms of the coil - it only really works properly if you use the range of Voopoo coils that came with the tank in the kit.

To get more power to the coil you will have to switch it to RBA mode which will allow you to set whatever power you want.

Bear in mind that if your coil is rated 40 - 50 Watts you can shorten the life of the coil quite drastically if you habitually use it at max power. Personally I'd be closer to 40 Watts than 50, pushing power limits on stock coils can get expensive.
