I'm using a Priv with TFV8 and also Crown V2 tank. I am making my own e-liquids and struggling to taste much flavour. I've tried Snickers from flavour west on its own and steeped. I've also tried mixing flavours like Peach and Apricot. Coconut, Cream and Cheesecake. The flavour is always very subtle if anything. Sometimes I get a really old school taste, like I might be vaping on something from like 10 years ago. Maybe some of the veterans here will know what I mean? Like you buy blueberry or cherry flavour and all you get is a hint of it and the rest is like a smokey flavour.
The coils are relatively new, and I don't think it's vapours tongue. I've had that before and everything is tasteless. But this time there is a taste, just a very bland one. Liquids with mint or menthol seem to have flavour. Absinthe or licorice flavours used to taste strong to me, now I can no longer taste them. It's strange. I use 70-100% VG and 2mg nicotine on the TFV8 and 70% PG 3mg nicotine on Crown V2.

Just a few questions:

How long do you leave them to steep? (with such a high VG ratio a week + is recommended)
How much flavouring do you put? (Usually 1ml per 10ml aka 10%)
PG is the flavour carrying substance - to get a richer flavour mix PG (It takes VG much longer to mix as it has a higher viscosity than PG).

I've left them a few days, even the ones with 70% PG. I put the recommended amount of flavouring. 15% for flavour west. For peach and apricot I put 10% each! I find it very strange I'm not getting flavour on a Crown V2 with a 70% PG liquid. I'm vaping between 40 and 65 watts

Do you shake them extremely well each day until you see fit to vape? You must ensure it is properly mixing.
How strong is the initial smell of the Liquid concentrates? And which retailer are you using for your purchases?

It might well be that you need longer steeping, especially with a high VG mix. To illustrate the difference it can make, these two bottles are my home brew custard (though I know custards do take longer than fruits) - the one on the right I made last night and the one on the left has steeped for about 6 weeks. The difference in flavour is just as obvious.

I've heard custards take weeks and fruits can be vaped straight away. I am doing DIY liquids using concentrates from Flavor West, TPA, One on One and Capella. I shake the bottles several times a day. The strange thing is.. the smell of the liquids is very strong. I can smell them even with the lids sealed lol

Whilst that is often true, it might take fruits longer with such a high VG ratio?

This is vapers tongue I'm afraid. I've had exactly the same problem since December last year. Pretty much all flavours apart from menthol/aniseed based ones taste bland as fuck no matter how strong I mix them or how long I steep.
I've given up trying to fix it and just accept that anything is better than cigarettes so I just vape fruity menthol vapes now. Even the fruit in those tastes bland. :(

I wouldn't put it down to vapers tongue. Vapers tongue doesn't last forever. I've mixed a fruit and mint liquid and lowered the nicotine, increased PG to 70%. If this doesn't work I'm going to try 90% PG. I suggest you try the same NavahoJoe. Don't settle for flavourless vaping, there's always a cure.

.... maybe, but the cure won't be mixing at 90% PG that's for sure.
