This is a personal review of a product I either bought or received free of charge. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of this website, planetofthevapes.co.uk

Ok, as promised earlier today, the review is as follows: -

Here we have the Nucliec DNA20 Box Mod by StiG

It is powered by 2 x 18500 batteries and so far, I have only had to charge them once in over a week of continued use.

It is made out of a fabricated case, that is covered in an exotic wood, and then covered with a few layers of beeswax, that does give it a smooth feel. The top and bottom is Brass, which I am leaving, as I really do like the Patina effect.

Now it has a 510 connector that is sunk properly into the brass plate, which means that all atties fit, with no gap, and the button to the left and right, are to change the wattage

Now lets get down to the business of how it vapes......and that is really really well. It doesnt miss a beat, not one misfire, and seems to give a really smooth and efficient wattage delivery, and each vape tastes the same as the one before. It doesnt 'spike' like other VW or VV devices have done. I have found as a result, I probably vape at higher wattages than I did on other pieces of kit.

As I have already mentioned the power consumption is ridiculously low, and I can get 4/5 days medium vaping out of one charge. I was slightly sceptical to start with, as like the Vmax, this thing doesnt actually turn off, after 15 seconds, the screen will dim, and if it is not used for 4 minutes, the screen will switch off, but the unit doesnt, so everytime you reach for it, wether its 9PM or 3 AM in the morning, it will be ready to tend to your needs and fire, one of the reasons its nicknamed NURSE!

Here is a photo of pure vape porn :)

Now I also like, that the atty resistance, wattage, battery level and voltage used when you press the fire button are all displayed together, and I also like the fact that you can adjust the wattage settings by increments of .1 instead of the normal .5. I have found some liquids never hit quite the right mark, between 2 settings on other VW devices, but have found them to be spot on, on the Nucleic.

A real endearing feature of this, is the craftmanship, its not the best by far, but that is what I love, this isnt mass produced, and has imperfections, its a one off, but its MY one off, and another one exactly the same doesnt exist :)

Summary

I love the DNA 20 chip, so much so, that I have been selling stuff off because: -

A. I do not need them when I have this
B. I love it so much, I want to get another DNA 20 mod to keep this company

If anyone is considering the Nucliec or for that matter a differing DNA20 mod, dont hesitate any further....Get one, you really wont regret it :)

Nice one AndyC1971 looks real good with the colour of wood and brass too, I have got to bite the bullet and pay out for something like this

I have to thank Liath, because if I am honest, DNA20's were on my list 'to get' mods, but wouldnt of got around to it for a few months yet, but I can honestly say, it has changed my path in vaping :)

I do miss this, purely for the battery life. I am however very happy with the fact that it is loved, it really deserves it. :D for anyone looking to spend 100-150 on a regulated device this really is a no brainer. The picolibri ones do look good, but are quite a lot more expensive. I also really rate the form factor of the Nucleic, feels great in your hand.

So, let me get this right AndyC1971... you quite like your BIRTHDAY present, do you?! ;)
ElsaBubs.. thanks again for parting with it to put a smile on the Old Chunt's face... and... good job I didn't get the brasso out before I gave it to him given he likes it 'dirty', innit?! ;)

I have just made up my mind 100% that I will be getting a DNA20 PCB sometime soon, and then scratch my head for the rest of the year thinking up what to install it in that'll require very few tools(as my shed has been raided by so many folks borrowing shite that I've no idea what I have left)

Not seen @Carlos about lately for His input on these as I believe he uses too

Oh I'm never far away mate lol, Been reading about these on another forum :),

Nice Review Andy, how are you finding the DNA20, I loved the regulated vape with the KLF and dripper. I traded my gepetto Grizzly Adams as I found I would not take it outside.

my views on a DNA20 chip they are faultless and to me the inovation of 2013 :)

+1 matey.

I found VV could be really harsh....I tried a Provari and realised the delivery was much more improved and smoother
I found VW can sometimes be 'hit & miss' and feels unregulated to a tolerance....I tried a DNA 20 mod and realised the delivery was much improved and smoother!

So I agree, the innovation of 2013, and I do feel we will see a glut of DNA20 devices in 2014, and that gives us vapers an exciting time ahead :)
