I paid for this juice out of my own pocket and what follows are my own opinions, not influenced by either the vendor or POTV and please remember these are my opinions, taste is subjective.
This is 80% VG and costs a whopping £19 for a 30ml bottle (3mg) which comes wrapped in a neat little velvet bag. Woohoo!
This, according to the makers is: Hazelnut Cream with a hint of Coffee. Made with extracts of real Aribica Coffee beans and all natural flavourings, aged and steeped in reclaimed Brandy barrells for two and a half months before bottling. The PHILLIP ROCKE GRAND RESERVE is an ultra premium, top-shelf e-liquid made in small batches by renowned artisan juice mixologist Phillip Rocke (the master behind ANML and Gemini). With high-quality ingredients directly sourced from their origin, the Grand Reserve carries an exquisite flavor profile that is unparalleled by any other flavor in existence today.
Quite a spiel eh? The makers are responsible for the stunning ANML range so does this live up to expectations? Lets see………...
The bad news was that when I stuck my not inconsiderable bugle into the bottle, the smell reminded me a bit of Five Pawns 'Black Flag Fallen'……don't be fooled by that, it was only slightly and it tastes nothing like it.
For me there wasn't one single flavour which I could say takes centre stage, you get all of it……the hazelnut combined with the cream its really nice on the inhale with the coffee done just right on the exhale and slight notes of brandy lurking in the background which for me, became ever so slightly more prominent when exhaling through the nose. If I had to pick, i'd just slightly, ever so slightly, say that the hazelnut and cream come out on top. There isn't one 'bold' flavour its done perfectly, the coffee is there, but just right, some might call it muted but this isn't like that, you get enough to know its there. The cream brings everything together and the combination makes this a really nice vape. The merest hint of what I think is a sweet brandy which comes from the steeping gives it just the right amount of 'oomph' and indeed after some tokes the brandy lingered very nicely.
Overall, this is an excellent juice. It doesn't make me moist in the way that his 'Looper' did but it comes close. I can see why that whenever a batch of this is released it doesn't take very long to sell out. Indeed one vendor (stateside) was limiting this to two bottles per person. This makes for a nice change of pace for me and i'd certainly buy it again when available.
