Well, what a great morning!
I find it hard to put into words how I feel about this - in a sense, or to some of you out there, you may feel that this is a minor point to make, but for me it's HUGE.
Two days ago I realised I was running real low on some of my favourite juices. In particular, 'The Sinner' - one of Lee's original flavours in the Dripworx range which was brought back not so long ago. Simple, but delicious. To me, very much like clotted cream ice cream.
So I was browsing the menu, and my attention was immediately drawn to the 'new' addition of Xmas Custard! Now, I was always a huge fan of Granny's Custard (fnark) a while back, but had not bought any for some time as I had been taken by some other flavours (Double Dunk, Steep Treats and particularly in wintertime - Teatime and Apple Danish (they feel real christmassy/wintery vapes).
Imagine my disappointment when I noted that the Xmas Custard (steeped for 11 months ffs!) was totally sold out, even when it had been restricted to 1 bottle per customer. Gutted. I imagine I was about three days too late to the party. This happens often for me - I order then two days later there's a sale on.
I also spent all of 30 seconds trying to track down a discount code. Couldn't find one. Realised I really shouldn't be looking for discounts when dealing with small businesses like this anyhow. Let's support small local business and find out discounts elsewhere, at the big companies who pay no tax, underpay and overwork employees instead people! Let's stop screwing one another and work on the corporate machines instead!
So I ordered anyway, and put up with the taste-memory of that perfect custard vape teasing my poor little brain.
So imagine my surprise when I opened my parcel this morning to discover not only the delicious treats I had ordered, but also a hand written Xmas card from Lee noting how he remembers how much I loved my Custard from previous orders and A BOTTLE OF FUCKING CHRISTMAS CUSTARD!!!!!
Straight into the tank it went. I have a mouthful of it. . . .right now! Mwah hah ha haaaaah!
Smooth, almost gloopy in the mouth. Sweet but not too sweet. Creamy. Ahh, my old friend. Hello again.
I haven't even tried the Sunday Split - although it smells really banananananaey and I'm sure will be delicious.
But it's all about the Custard for the moment.
