Hey all, I've got a Pulse BF box mod with a wasp nano on it. This is my first mech and I've been ohms lawing, youtubing, forum searching and shop owner talking to try and understand it the best I can to have a safe but cloudy experiance.

My question is, what pre-made coils can I buy for mine until I'm confident enough to start building and using my own coils? Also any advice about what to buy and how to make the coils would be greatly appreciated.

Please don't reply if you're going to say I'm stupid for buying this (it was given to me) or that I should stay away from it.

1: make sure you have a suitable cell for your needs
2: Always build the nano on a regulated device first so you can check the resistance and check for shorts etc
3: You can buy whatever pre-made coils you like, depending on what you want. (and they are suitable for your cell)

It would help if you let us know how you usually vape, what gear, what resistance, what power you are usually using etc? .. especially if you want a similar experience from a mech.

I've only ever used basic disposable e-cigs so I'm not sure...

Shane. Your going to need something to check the ohms of your build before use on the pulse. It's so easy to get a short on a coil in an rda without visually seeing it. This could lead to a perfectly suitable coil becoming extremely dangerous. If you do not have an ohm reader I'd recommend one or a cheap or second hand regulated mod to tell you that your build is within a safe range as simong said.
The vape on the wasp/pulse is going to be massively more powerful compared to your ecig. You will probably have to reassess your nic level too.

mmm. Ok, well as a start I would suggest not using a coil under 0.5ohms .. and even that will be pretty damn pokey compared to what you are used to.

To be honest if you are used to a more ciggy type vape I wouldn't even recommend the wasp and would say you'd be better off with a smaller MTL rda and a 1ohm coil.

... and like @eyeball kid says you will need something to build it on, it's far too risky sticking an unchecked built rda straight on a mech.

When I got the pulse it was setup and working, still is. I've tried a few nic levels and found that 3mg is the perfect amount for me. At the moment it is working fine, coil etc are great so I've got time to get what I need. I was looking at getting an ohm reader but didn't know what they do. How much do they cost? Is it worth getting that or a second hand regulated mod?

You may believe it's working fine but pre made coils can vary wildly in ohms.
To be honest there's so many things that could go wrong here it scary.
Any kind of mech mod is really for the advanced vaper. I'm not taking the piss. I've been vaping years now as has simong and even with all that experience and a full understanding of ohms law, current draw and coil building. I'm still not in a happy place using a mech mod.
The beauty of a regulated mod is that should the coil ohms be too low it will not fire. Should you have a short it will not fire. It will visually inform you of any issuers and give you constant real time ohm readings. Basically it won't let you stress your batteries.
It sounds like an overreaction but we have all seen mods short and batteries vent and the results are devastating.
Ask santa for a regulated mod and put the pulse on the shelf until your more informed. Stick around here and ask as many questions as you need.

Thank you. I will look into getting a regulated mod. I took mine into a vape shop earlier and the guy put my wasp on his vape qnd started saying a load of random numbers etc. He said it was 1.2ohms I think and said it was safe to use on my pulse.

Yeah take your time. A coil obviously is heated and cooled constantly so moves around. It only takes part of that coil to touch a post or the deck or wall of the rda and the ohms will drop. Probably bellow what is safe for your battery and within seconds you will have no hand or face. That's no exaggeration either.
Start with a regulated model, don't risk it.

Thanks, are they easy to understand? The screens always put me off. Looks like a load of random meaningless numbers to me...
