PULSE Starter Kit Review

This item was received free of charge from http://www.vapeaholics.co.uk/. It is a PULSE starter kit. I did not receive this for the purpose of review but this is my first ever starter kit that came looking like a pack of cigs, so I thought I'd give it a go.These are my views, they do not reflect those of anyone else who may have received this kit, or this forum. They are GIVING THESE AWAY FREE for STOPTOBER! So take them up on the offer and pass them along to a friend!

I asked for High Nic I am assuming it is 24mg based on the big white sticker on the front of the cig shaped box.


Upon opening the box, you see 4 pieces sitting within a foam insert. They are a 510 USB charger, 2 prefilled (Vanilla) Cartomisers and an automatic battery which has a red glow tip (that is supposed to resemble an ash tip on a real cig)
You can see that the cig itself resembles a real cigarette, which results in the term, CIGALIKE.

This is an automatic battery set up, which means you have to draw on it in order for the atomiser inside to heat the e-liquid up to produce vapour. The draw is tighter than a real cigarette, which can kind of be adjusted by loosening or tightening the cartomiser on the battery. When it is tight to the battery though, there is an annoying whistling sound.

Even with 24mg (I am assuming) nicotine, there is absolutely no throat hit, but this could also be because of the flavour which is vanilla. The flavour is muted and I can taste a bit of a tobacco base in there. It could also be the filler getting too hot. It is not unpleasant, but I am used to stronger flavours and I find this one below par to what I like.

Overall, this is the perfect starter kit for someone starting out. A great way to introduce them to vaping and showing how effective it can be!

Oh so these are 510 based? that a bonus!

No they aren't 510 based...you can see from the thread on the battery that the battery screws into the carto, 510's screw into the battery... does that make sense? I cant tell the difference between a female/male connection lol

I believe they are 808 or their own threadings

Deffo a great way to introduce someone in my opinion. It's packaging is familiar enough that the subconscious can make a connection without too much effort. (I am one of those people that believes the subconscious plays a huge role in our addictions to smoking!) Its heavier than a normal cig and you cant let it dangle out of your mouth.

Also, the white mouthpiece just inside the cartomiser, will pop out,so you can drip refill them or stick a blunt needle down the side of the filler, making the cartomiser on these last longer!

You'll have to let us know how it goes with your own juice. I've ordered mine with the plan of carrying it in the car and giving it away to the first person who shows a genuine interest in vaping. But if they turn out to be the best kit ever, I may just keep it!

Word of advice, remove the sticker from the cartomiser when removing the white cap ad be very gentle.

Quickest way to refill with your own juice is to use the plastic cap that comes in the pack to protect the carts. 3/4 fill with juice and simply push the cart back into the cap slowly, mouth end first. Completely refilled in about 5 seconds (remember to wipe the end before puffing!!). Quick pic attached. (I take no responsibility for product placement)

I wanted to add that mine arrived this morning, I opted for 20mg tobacco flavour. With this, there is a throat hit, be it a very light to medium one. When you change from these to vaping equipment "proper" the throat hit is a lot stronger, which is why the hit is very noticeable between the two. The tobacco flavour itself was pleasant enough and as KMS said, ideal for the newcomer.
