Question about the new battery I bought today.

I bought a new battery today from eBay and it works fine so far from what I can tell but I have a few questions about it.
Its an EGO T VGO 1100mah battery and claims it has variable voltage? However I'm not sure how to get this working. When the battery is switched on I can click the button 3 times and then if I click it again the LED at the end of the battery (not the one on the button) changes colour to blue, click it again and it changes to green, then click it again and it changes to red. And so on. If I wait about a second it seems to come out of this mode and go back to the general use mode and I can use it, however the LED light on the end is always green. Am I right in thinking that this is changing the voltage somehow? There is no noticeable difference to the taste, no burning and no weak puff, it just seems to make no difference. Apparently this is a new battery for 2014 and I can't find any posts about it anywhere on the internet. So I thought I'd come ask here first.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

Anyone :)

Hi jondread, I've used one of these briefly, and it certainly wasn't this year. The one I used was from no later than 2012 but the design sounds to be pretty much the same. From what I understood of it, the unit can supply power to an atomiser at three levels: 3.2V(Blue), 3.7V(Green), and 4.2V(Red). From my experience there didn't seem to be much of a difference between them, and so I'm guessing the actual voltage levels were quite a bit closer than I've stated above.

What I did notice with it was that when it was on it's way out, it didn't matter what I set it to, it always reverted to the lowest setting within a few minutes. It's entirely possible I just wasn't understanding it properly, but I'd suggest getting in touch with the vendor you bought it from and asking for clarification on both the operation of it and the voltage levels it's supposed to be supplying.

Hey Jon, nice to see someone from canterbury. Sorry to be Captain Hindsight, but you could have got a MUCH better battery from myepack.co.uk for about the same price. The unbranded ebay stuff just won't work the way you want it to, no matter how many replacements you get from the seller.

Thanks for the replies guys :) I will definitely check out that site next time I'm in the market for a new battery, and yeah Canterbury is basically my nearest city and where a lot of my friends are, I spend a lot of time there on the weekends but I'm actually in Sittingbourne, although not proud to say it haha! So for the battery I have at the moment, basically although the end doesn't light up red/blue/green, it is definitely changing the voltage then. Makes a bit more sense now, cheers :D

You will find ebay sells mainly unbranded or fake junk, as said before try and get some kit from myepack, good prices and next day delivery, best seller there is..

ewww... ebay.

Dont buy from ecig gear from Ebay unless you know what you are getting... Seriously :P

I wish I could put a banner that flashes at the top of every thread that says "DO NOT BUY ECIG GEAR FROM EBAY *unless you know what you are getting..."

I bought so many ego batteries from ebay, all complete junk, could never charge one of them properly, even chargers were shot, they not even cheaper anyway....

The ebay thing rears it head again. There's good stuff to be had but like the advise says, only if you know what you are buying...Be it on your own head.
