I'm sure there's a really obvious answer but its 3:25am and this just popped into my mind.

Why aren't 9v batteries used in mods. I'm talking about the cuboid shaped ones used in smoke alarms mostly (also used in my multimetre). Surely using a 9v battery would mean you could either vape at a much higher wattage without stacking or could get a similar vape experience to low resistance and a much higher resistance?

Good question and the answer is that 9v batteries are simply unable to cope with the current draw of an atomizer - The lipo version of the 9v is only capable of 450 Mah and to be honest i can't find a discharge rating on them - Even if it were 10C then it would be capable of 4.5A but i would imagine that would be stretching things to be honest..

.. Added : the one that i just found is capable of 2.5A only which considering you would have to have a different charger for it means even the LIpo ones are not viable for a mod

Aah of course, should've thought about current draw!
