Hey there so I'm interesting in going into dripping and rebuilding (terrified about that bit for some reason but - interested!)

The more I think about dripping the more I get the feeling it's 'my thing' and I don't even know it yet :D

Now I realise that there's umpteen past topics along the lines of 'RDA for a beginner?' - I've read lots of them and ive got about a dozen different opinions and also cant rightly untangle which info ive gleaned is the most up to date...

So hoping you lovely and knowledgeable people can help me out with what I need. :)

Can anyone make a solid recommendation for a starter RDA for me? I'm a flavour chaser for sure and I'm not looking to sub-ohm, (got the wattage but not for me). Looking for something that I can start with doing a single coil, preferably one with holes in the posts rather than wrapping them around - sounded more foolproof? Just something easy for the shakey handed buffoon that I am :P

It's also a plus if it looks nifty (sad, I know) and is a reasonable price in the uk so I can get my paws on it before I get old ;)

One that seemed a possibility was a Doge?

Thanks so much guys!

Morning,I'll jump in here,

For flavour I would recommend the mutation x v4 ,great for flavour and its really easy to build on as plenty of space to work with, when I started dripping I simply wrapped a single 28awg coil at about 0.5 ohm and popped some cotton in making sure the tails of the cotton were in the juice wells ,now I know you don't want to sub ohm and that's cool but you'll not get the full benefit of a dripper unless you drop the resistance under 1ohm, that's all you need to start, when your confidence grows you can't start doing dual coil or/and messing around with different resistance wire, for a starter I would use a vw device and not a mech mod and make sure your using good batteries along the lines of Samsung 25r,price wise there's nothing wrong with picking up a clone on ebay for under £10 .hope this helps a little

If you think dripping is going to be your 'thing' I would highly recommend dropping below 1 ohm.

I got a Plumeveil clone for my first ever RDA, nice easy build space, I can restrict the airflow easily and it was a nice little introduction to the world.

£12 from local B&M store.

Derringer, 5 wraps of 28g will give you about 1ohm in single coil, will give you a taste of what its about.

Derringer is a doddle to build on and is flavour full.

+1 on the Derringer clone, look for the v2 base if you can find it, it has a split pos post for easier building, the v1 3 post is still good though.
Easy to single coil, capable of dual coils when you're ready.
No need to subohm til you're ready either ... I found a microcoil of 8 wraps of 0.4mm kanthal (26g) around a 3.0mm former, gives 1.1ohms and cracking flavour.

That's exactly the build I'm using on my dripper. Single coil 26/8 wraps/3mm bit
Comes out about 1-1.1 ohm and tastes fantastic.

The derringer has some spitback issues, and I found it a bit leaky, IMO the Bambino by Wismec/Jay Bo, which is very cheap for an original at 25 pounds ish, is a VAST improvement. The Bambino has a 'wall' inner design which prevents leaking very well, and a domed top cap which improves airflow and helps with spitback.

My Bambino is my atty of choice, although anythig that small isn't good for chain vaping due to heat, but hey ;)

My recommendation, go a physical store who stock them to have a look and see if they offer a build service. If they do, buy what you want online and then go in and even pay a fiver for them to show you how to build.

My recommendation for a first would be something like the UD Hunter RDA purely because as an authentic it is cheap, solid and has plenty of space to put builds in and experiment. Im one of those guys that I need to see something being done and after that, I can find my own feet so going to my local store when I started dripping was perfect.

No spitback issues here, build under the top cap away from the posts, no probs agree it can be a bit leaky - think its more of a condensation trap around the afc.

Keep meaning to grab a bambino, would need a delrin top cap as i dont get on with metal in me mouth. I'm a delicate soul.

If the sapor had a single coil option that'd be a great 1st time build.

I agree Cloud, location of coil in the build affects spitback a lot, I should have mentioned that, even on the bambino that has to be taken into account. I'm looking for a delrin cap myself, I'm going for a domed one though, as the bambino wall based airflow really needs a slight vortex created to work well. Main reason I don't rock a derry is the leaking, serious the bamby has proved itself super leak resistent ; )

If you are in London, House Of Vapes in Shoreditch carries them in stock, 22 quid I believe, it's where I got mine from ;)

You ever tried a Cascata? THat's my second fave, the thing is weird on a dual coil build, but if you do a single coil mounted right in front of airflow the thing gives AMAZING flavour and coulds! It's a weird one, SUPER reduced chamber, but works very well and with a nice stainless drip tip looks sexy too, a little heavy though ;)
