RDTA Wicking question

I'm a big fan of big 5-7 ml RTA's such as the Griffin 25, Herakles RTA2 etc. Wicking has never been an issue either.

I have recently bought the IJOY Limitless Plus RDTA. This is very similar to the Wismec Theorem in that the coils are at the top and the cotton hangs down into the tank section. Most YouTube reviews on these RDTAs recommend to have the cotton only touching the top of the juice and the wicking will happen when tilting the device up when vaping and the liquid will make contact with the cotton.

My question is, why can't i wick it so that the cotton so that is come to just above the bottom of the tank so that the cotton is permanently saturated in the juice? Or even bring it right down to the base of the tank?

I haven't yet received this yet (in the post) but when i do, do you reckon i'd be ok having the cotton hanging right down to the bottom of the tank?

I've got the limitless and wicked it down to the bottom and to just before the glass.

The only real difference is that more cotton = less juice in the tank. That said the way I sit means that the tank is nearly horizontal when I vape, so the wicks are always in the juice :)

Ijoy say wick to bottom users say just before glass, I do mine about half way down glass with no problems! As davroz says main difference is less juice in tank with cotton in it and it is one juice drinker of a tank so you could see this as a problem!

I leave the tails very long and stuff them in so the tank is full of cotton.

It's a bugger to fill as you have to wait for the cotton to absorb the juice, but it works like a giant RDA with no spills or dry hits.

I use the avacado with vertical coil build, split the end as of the cotton just touching the top of the tank. I've tried longer wicks and find it soaks the juice up to quick, like you say tilt n vape for best results

I've not found much difference between long and short tails. More important is the volume/diameter of cotton, especially at the point where it enters the tank. Too much chokes the flow of juice and ruins the vape.
