Replaced Coil on EVOD

Now my banana juice seems to have lost its flavour.

just to confirm, I have put a brand new unit on, (one of the 5 i got with my starter kit?

what could be causing this loss of flavour, when I first got this unit, the taste was strong and sweet but now I get lots of smoke but a loss of flavour.

for the record, I replaced the unit because I was getting a burnt taste.

Could be a couple of things.

1. Are you using a standard battery ? Guess you are as you mention a starter kit. EVOD coils have a certain resistance. 1.8, 2.2 or 2.4 ohms. This should be etched onto the coil. The lower the ohms the hotter it will burn. You might have had a 1.8 ohm in the EVOD originally but your replacement coils are 2.2 or 2.4 ohm. With a standard battery a 1.8 ohm coil would probably be best for flavour.

2. I have been a victim of fake EVOD coils. My fakes came n a box of 5.& the box was white & it said E-Vod coils not EVOD. Also the wicks that stick out of he coil were miniscule. I thought no more about it but now I've got what I think are originals in a black box labelled Protank & EVOD coils the wicks are much more pronounced with better flavour.

As above the coil you wrapped may be too high in ohms to get decent vapour production u can buy ohm meters from cloud 9,stealth vape,and safercigs then you could test the coil resistance

There are a lot of fakes out there and I got what I believe are originals from Smok Shop . There's a selector where you can choose the resistance. If I get chance tonight I''ll upload a picture of the box & the 2 coils ( original & fake ) side by side so you can make an informed judgement.

I threw away an EVOD tank because it was leaking eliquid. I thought I'd cracked it because I'd over tightened the base. A week later my second EVOD tank started leaking. I was still using the fake coils at this time. I put in a "Smok Shop original" in & the leaking stopped.

I now believe that there was nothing wrong with that first EVOD tank. Rather the plastic grommets on the fake coil or a seal of some kind on the fake coil was allowing liquid to seep out of the base. The EVOD tank itself is fine.

So I've paid good money for a box of fake coils. Plus a perfectly good EVOD tank in the bin not to mention mess & cost of leaking eliquid. Still it's a learning experience I suppose & the cost of a couple of packets of fags. I've given them up now for 4 months so I'm still well in the black money wise.

Sorry I can't post any pictures of the fake coils. I'd forgotten that in a fit of annoyance I'd thrown them all out.

Take it from me, I've seen thicker knicker elastic on a lap dancer than the wicks on those fake coils.

I bought the same crap. I should have done my research first. The box said e-vod and the little case said ego. Needless to say, I was pissed.

ARSENIC- I read that if ur juice gets cold it can actually lose its flavor until it returns to room temp. Dont know if its true or pertains to u but I thought u might want to know.
