A small but significant study of 18 asthmatic smokers over 12 months. 10 switched completely. 8 cut down cigarette use substantially

Key clinical point: Asthmatic smokers who adopted physician advice to switch to electronic cigarettes showed significant 1-year improvements in lung function, methacholine-provoked airway hyperresponsiveness, and asthma-related quality of life.

“Electronic cigarette use improves respiratory physiology and subjective asthma outcomes in asthmatic smokers. E-cigarettes are a safer alternative to conventional cigarettes in this vulnerable population,” Dr. Cristina Russo declared at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.

Salient points above though. Bugs me that when we have some confirmed good news it is stuck behind this kind of 'wall' (not sure if its a pay wall as I didn't venture further) yet the ANTZ garbage ends up in the tabloids on repeat for weeks and even after the debunking articles arrive

I was smoking 20 embassy a day with asthma (stupid I know) was using the blue ventolin inhaler approx. 4 times a day. Started vaping 2 months ago and have not had to use the inhaler at all, not once.

Definite improvement for me anyway.

I'm the same, I used to get a Blue Inhaler every Six to Eight Weeks and I've had the same one for Eighteen Months now!!! I got a Glowing Report on my last Asthma Review but my GP still refuses to see the benefits and states the usual Tripe about "we're not sure what's in them yet" I told him to look at the Move website but I don't hold out much hope of him bothering to be honest!!!

Same here, blue, pink and brown inhalers for me (old stinky smoking me).

Maybe be use the blue ventolin once a day now, if that.

I'll vouch for that.

Was a brown and blue inhaler user, peak flow of around 350-400 on a good day. Used my blue inhaler multiple times every day.

Not used it in at least six months now, and my peak flow was 650 at my last check up. Switched to vaping two years ago, and felt the benefits in the first month.
